Yeah, I kind of like to give a guy a bit of an opportunity before I make damning judgements on him.
Of course I have come to accept the flavor of many on here where they make judgements based on the last game and go from re-signing to dumping him for pucks.

Any concerns with Kanzig's point output in juniors apply to Breen and he lacks the enforcer gene. No idea what the Flames are so worried about. The odds of him becoming anymore than a 7th dman are tremendously slim.

Who is condemning him?
Saying he doesn't look like an NHL player right now and that he could clear waivers is far from condemning a guy.

Why? The kid is no where near being ready. And if he is an NHLer he's likely 3 years away. He has simply been awful.

It's not only the games. The training camps, exhibition games everything Breen has done as a Flame he has looked bad doing.

i just can't see how spending the season in a suit in the Saddledome is helping him develop. If there is any hope for the guy... spending the year not playing isn't going to get him there.

I agree wholeheartedly. Crap or get off the pot. Play him, trade him or demote him.

Did you miss the post where it was mentioned that they are working hard with him in practice? They are working with him which how you attempt to develop a guy.

Some of you guys are honestly losing your minds.
It has fallen all the way down to crapping on the 8th defenseman who they are probably taking one last crack at seeing if he will develop....in a rebuild year?

I must have forgot the long history of players who spent an entire season only practicing and never actually dressing developing into regular NHLers.
if you think he has a future... dress him over SOB or Derek Smith.

I'm just surprised he's not dead after running into the boards yesterday.

Smid? Wideman? Russell?
Giordano for a ton of games? Glencross long term again?
Wow. The "hockey Gods" are doing most everything they can to get us Ekblad or Reinhart, that's for sure.
