Dolan kiboshed the Knicks deal. Probably though MU was going to rape him again.

^^^ not a lot left to rape on that team. It would be interesting to know what the offer was.

Heard it was Felton + Artest + Hardaway Jr/2018 1st.
Modest return.

It was a decent trade for the Knicks and not sure why the Nuggets trade gets talked up as such a killing for the Nuggets. It may have been one-sided but far from the steal or raping that many seem to have it painted as now.
I like the idea of getting rid of Lowry but the return is pretty underwhelming from the Knicks. Would prefer it if they can keep that scumbag Artest out of it.

Shumpert was apparently also a possibility. Also all kinds of rumors flying about deals with the Nets, GS, Minny. With Lowry, Fields, Amir etc. Hoopshype had Lowry in 27 different rumors LOL.
Bottom line is MU is going to clean house. Lowry is next but then it will be Amir. Plus I bet he starts flippin these guys he is acquiring as well. I can see Felton and MWP being moved before they even hit the TO airport if that deal goes down eventually. Dolan is such a tool he probably accepts the deal in the coming days after they take a couple more beatdowns!

This just proves how awful BC was as a GM. We are now trading Lowry for potentially 2 negative assets and a pick that is 4 years down the road.

Lowry is going to leave next year anyway, getting a pick + Hardaway Jr is a good value for him with Felton and MWP thrown in as trade fodder. Doub the Knicks will be this stupid to make this happen though.
DD is a different story as Uriji should be able to get good assets back from him.

Knicks and Nets both lose tonight. Perfect result for the Lowry trade market. Now we need one more team to get involved to light a fire under them. Maybe the GSW rumours heat up.

In summary which is at the bottom of this chronicle:
Quote:
Every other future pick deal by the Knicks since 2001 has been somewhere between bad and unmitigated disaster. The Knicks have given up the likes of Nene, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joakim Noah, Gordon Hayward and some kid coming out in 2016 for a broken Antonio McDyess, Stephon Marbury, a broken Eddy Curry and an $11-million-a-year Andrea Bargnani.

Trade of Lowry likely goes down by Thursday. Players traded before Thursday can be be traded again at the deadline. Unless the return is purely young guys or picks.

Nets and Knicks are both willing to trade alot for Kyle Lowry from the Raptors. Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Rudy Gay's absence hasn't had the tanking effect GM Masai Ujiri had hoped for. In fact, the Raptors are 3-1 since the trade. That's why Ujiri is out working hard to move more veterans like Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan. Lowry should be pretty easy to move. DeRozan will be tougher.GMs are even more interested in trying to pry away Jonas Valanciunas and Amir Johnson, I'm told. Valanciunas is virtually untouchable and it would take a pretty high draft pick to pry away Johnson, who is playing the best ball of his career right now (averaging 20 points and 9 rebounds in his past five games).
|
Would be nice if they can get some value for Lowry and a lottery pick for Amir. Wait till the draft to deal DD for a big return.

I think the most interesting possible landing spot for Amir would be Phoenix: they think they're ready to take the next step forward, they're thin at PF (the Morrises and Frye), and they like the pick-and-roll with both Dragic and Bledsoe. AJ could fit both those needs for them. He's also a high-character guy who would fit in well. And they've got the draft picks to burn (their own, plus Indiana, Minnesota, and Washington this year (all with protection to about 12-14), and LA's next year...).

Not only do the Knicks lose again tonight (to the Wiz, at home, in the last 5 seconds), Pablo Prigioni goes down with what's believed to be a toe fracture and is probably out until January. I think the asking price for Lowry just went up a little.

I'd rather hang on to Amir unless the offer is simply too good to pass on. Amir is a guy who has gotten better year after year and is just now entering his prime. I'd like to see what an actual coach can do with a frontline of him and Jonas. But he has got to get rid of that 3, no thanks.

Goddamn Raptors...at least this is driving up Lowery's value but now I mean the East is so pathetic the Raptors can realistically claim to be the 3rd best team.

Hey at least now when Doug Smith trots out his BS "this team isn't as bad as people think" and "they might be close" he can use this while ignoring the other 500 games over the past 6+ seasons as his evidence.
I guess after following these losers for so long I shouldn't be surprised that they would screw up a tank.
