Not so sure a Granlund/Sven pairing would work considering they're both prolific passers. Yes, Granlund can finish, but I'd like to see them separated.

I actually like both of them together, as they both seem to have that 'high' offensive IQ, and they both are really great at passing and shooting. I just think that line needs some jam, and hope that Ferland gets put on it when he is healthy. It seems like a perfectly complimentary line on paper anyways.
However, Gretzky and Hull looked like a perfect match as well, and chemistry does not work on paper alone. Street might indeed end up being a better match with Sven, and seems like a very good 200ft player to help Sven's development.
I wonder how much Ward is going to mix up the lines (though he has to especially with the injuries) and try to find new pairings again.

Sounds like the same way he played in the NHL.

When guys get sent down it's not unusual at all to take a couple games to adjust.
I think he and Granlund should be given some time together - they are both smart players. Add Ferland for a banging and crashing element, as well as a net presence, and I think they could be awesome.

That's what I'm here for.
Ramage is back, Spoons is still out.
Reinhart knight street playing together with street on the wing
Baertschi - Granlund - Olson makes the other top 6 line.

2-0 Comets after one. Lane MacDermid took a bad penalty and Grenier scored on the powerplay, the first goal was a defensive breakdown and two chances in the slot led to the goal. Ortio was not pulled this time.

WTF Utica? Worst team in the AHL but they have the Heat's number.

it's incredible watching them, they shut down passes, they don't allow any sustained pressure 5on5, the Comets are a great team when they play the Heat.
I hope the Heat shake this Comet voodoo though, they play eachother 12 times this year. (6 more after tonight)
end of 2nd. no goals scored. Eddy scrapped but the timing was off, the Heat were with possession in the offensive-end.

Utica added some veterans and Eriksson has really stepped up his game. They have gone 9-7-0-0 since they broke their season opening losing streak.

Also if I didn't know better, I wouldn't even know Baertschi was playing. Did he get hurt or benched? Because he is completely invisible.

Looks like the Heat's bottom 5 league possession numbers are catching up to them.

Did any Heat player stand out in this game? From what I could tell on the radio, Utica completely stymied the entire team.
You always really like to let us know, both here and on HF, that Baertschi is no good.

Sounds like Heat are really hurting without Byron/Jones/Ferland ?

Well, 3 straight losses for the Heat now......worst stretch of the season so far.
Hopefully this thing doesn't go off the rails the way it did last season.

Having watched Ortio play every game so far this season, I am glad he was not pulled after the 2nd goal. Felt he adjusted well for the rest of the game. The power play seems to have drifted. It was working great with billins quarterbacking the 1st unit and cundari the 2nd. Now smith getting a lion share of PP time and it is not working as well. This is just my observation and not a shot at smith.
