Clearly it is not easily replaceable or there would be a big, fast, large dude doing it.

But the point is moot if you just don't like him period.

Cant diasagree more. He is on the wrong side of the puck frequently in our own end. His turnovers have been glaring. ( see detroits second goal)

So you're saying the Flames are making him play with a broken foot? First I've heard it was still broken. Pretty dumb thing to do when we aren't anywhere near a playoff spot.

They can't make a guy play so no I'm not saying that. He has a hairline fracture and it is pretty common to keep playing if a player can handle the pain and no more damage can be done. To clarify though, my assumption comes from experience and the fact he is still wearing a boot when he is not in a skate (as reported by Maher this morning).

Agree with Hartley's statement here. With Backlund's response (yes, it's a small sample size), hopefully people can see that Hartley's management of the younger players that matter is working... when players respond in the right way.

I guess what i am saying is he is progressing....he played a decent game last night and was hard on the cycle. Didn't count his mistakes that closely.

If that second goal is your idea of a glaring giveaway then yeah, Glencross had a bad game....just watched it again and he basically loses a board battle and has the puck stripped, Dastsyuk passes to Alfie...stretching to blame Glencross for that goal or even call it a giveaway.

If that's what we're calling a 'solid' game from Glencross, the standards have dropped immensely.

If it wasn't for Ramo, Calgary wasn't in that game, and Glencross is sporting a -1 for a brutal no-look-backhand-pass-to-no-one-during-a-line-change-in-the-neutral-zone-on-the-powerplay.

He looked better than he has, but he's gotta bring a whole heck of a lot more intensity before we start categorizing these as 'good' glencross games.

In the post game scrum last night, Hartley was asked if Monahan's lack of ice time was because of his health or his performance, and Hartley said it was performance related.

There will be. I don't see him sticking in a bottom six rôle past this year. If he elevates his offence and gets in the top 6 there might be hope but in a bottom six rôle he's not big enough.

If we ever want to be a championship team we can't have a guy that size in the bottom six. I don't see him making the cut if we ever want to be serious with Pacific powerhouses. I don't see Burke allowing it either. I don't think they see it as a big deal right now. They will just rotate abby guys to reward them in those bottom spots. He's not in the long term plans though don't kid yourselves, we have a number of guys that will take his spot next year or the year after quite easily. He gets the job done but we have better guys coming in the system let alone having to trade.

That's pretty much what I was saying.....didn't say "good". He appears to be progressing it what I am getting at.

not mocking his effort at all but he seems a touch behind in most situations. Love the guy ,but he obviously has not recovered his timing and his usual confidence since coming back.
needs more trucul... nah just needs to skate more when he gets skating his game comes together

Why are people complaining about byron he has out produced just about every one on our team since being called up , is a beast on the pk and very dangerous with his speed. Just because he is small he works harder than most of our big vets and is more effective at knocking people off the puck, I would rather have him in our lineup playing big than some of our vets that play small.
