Byron's been good. Why are some of you crapping over him? Are some of you not happy unless you have players to rag on?

Nah, ya know what? On Datsyuk's part that's just what any hockey player does. I'll agree on the ref though.

Meh, doesn't have the numbers to back it up, 38th in points and a +3.

Colborne and Monohan under 10 min, Byron with 15, Backlund 20+. With Sven gone, are they sharing the rookie hate?

IMO, Datsyuk is a top 5 forward in the NHL...and yes that was an awful call to decide the game.

Another Detroit rulebook call, but the Flames needed to do better to take advantage of the chances they had.

Yeah outside of Giordano's goal the powerplay was pretty awful tonight and they made it pretty easy for the Wings to kill penalties. Russell had a tough night on the powerplay as he couldn't get a shot past the Wings forwards.

Missed about 7 games due to injuries.
What you didn't state is that he has 31pts in 31 games after today. Good enough for top 10 if he played for the whole year.
Yeah. ####ty "stats". Obviously you just hate on him for no reason.

I dont think hes good. I don't think he is suited to bottom six and I have given my reasons. I think that's sufficient.

I think I don't agree with your opinion and considering how well he's been playing of late I simply don't understand why now you think it's a great time to play the "I don't think he's good" card. Odd timing.

The powerplay was terrible. But then, when was the last season that the Flames had a decent PP? The Keenan years? Needs more puck movement to get the defenders moving and create space, and some guys who know when to pull the trigger.
The Wings' regular NHLers outmatched the Flames, and rightly so. The rest of their roster was all garbage, and the Flames should have been able to take advantage of that.
They didn't.
Crappy way to lose, but it's still a road point, and they played respectably enough.

You are on an island here. He's a good player and has the admiration of his peers which counts for a heck of a lot more than what fans think or stats may portray.
Rick Nash is massively overrated. Pavel Datsyuk is not as he's one of the few players in the league with the complete toolbox to play in every single situation and dominate.

Before the Flames acquired Smid I remember hearing that he had a terrible first pass.
After watching him now for a while, I'm pleasantly surprised by his first passes. I am really liking his play.
I really hope management has patience with Backlund. He's earned it and belongs on this team.

I still don't think he is good enough even when he is playing well. I still think a larger player is better suited to his role. What he offers is easily replaceable and with size is my point. Hes not bad hes just not offering anything that someone else can't with size. I say I don't like him every game, i'm not just waiting for a loss to express this opinion.

He's the fastest Flames skater. What larger player can make a rush down the ice like Byron? You make it sound like Byron is a small plug. He's actually a pretty decent two way player that plays bigger than his size and he skates well. You think a guy like Jackman was better in the bottom six because he has size? Again I think your comments are strange and make little sense.

No I just have a different opinion about his value. Makes total sense. Im not trying to convince anyone, but hes not truclent enough for the bottom six imo
