Wes Gilbertson ‏@SUNGilbertson

I can't help but think that penalty on #Flames D TJ Brodie wasn't getting called until Pavel Datsyuk glanced back at ref.

I hope the Flames send tape to the NHL. Officials need to be disciplined for bad calls just like players get disciplined for bad play.

Good game, bad outcome. Excellent effort by the Flames. Great game played by them.

Feel good moment: we're approaching 10-year anniversary of taking them in 6 games and going to the Western Conference Final.

No one sees a top 6 forward.

Some see a bottom six forward who is capable of stirring the pot offensively a bit and a good penalty killer to boot.

He really has just been a nice surprise, since most people didn't think he'd ever be a real nhler. (Which still could be the case.)

Florida is only 1 point back now. We might get into the top 4 if their win streak continues.

Illitch will see that tape and raise the offer by 5 free pizzas.

The Flames had a 5 on 3, and actually 3 Wings in the box at one point...AT HOME.

The Flames and other teams have been screwed in Detroit having achieved a lot less than that over the years...you knew the makeup call was coming at some point.

Man I hate Detroit , watching Bert take one hand off his stick grab the defenders stick and get away with it
the constant interference they get away with away from the puck pisses me off
Great game by Backs, quietly impressed by SOB (way better than I thought he would be) , GlenX still looks like he is on the outside of the game , solid performance from Ramo
Good road game, ####e Refs, Byron-Lombardi comparison is bang on lotsa speed/effort no results

Keeping the officials honest and ensuring that the officiating supervisors are aware that standards aren't being met. Teams in the NFL do it all the time.

I dont want a guy whos under 160 in the bottom 6. You can find his exact qualities in a player twice the size with a 4th round pick. He has to be top 6 or in the AHL imo.

According to the most recent NHLPA poll, Datsyuk was:
most underrated
smartest player
hardest to take the puck from
most difficult to stop (goalies only)

When your peers say these things about you, they can't all be wrong.

That said, I think it was a chickensh** move by both he and the ref on the late penalty.

Anyone else think there was interference by Bert on the winner? Bumped Ramo but might have been after the goal went in.

Heck of a hit by Erixson, absolute beauty.

Says a lot when the ref doesn't raise his arm until Datsyuk looks back. Looks awful suspect. Stick on stick, shouldn't have been called, especially in the last minute of a back and forth game. If that's Byron going in alone the other way, no way that gets called.
