I have this guy:

I have it setup in the basement, and if I turn it up, you can clearly hear it upstairs

I have the Sonos soundbar and omg I love it. Granted I am a bit of a Sonos nut though. I have said it before and I will say it again I cant say enough good things about Sonos. Minimal wires, easy set up and it just sounds so good. Only complaint I really have is the price. You do get what you pay for.

I'll have to keep an eye on this one. Maybe it'll go for a good price on Boxing Day / Week.

I have the Samsung HW-E550. Great soundbar for the price - I believe I paid $250 last year on Boxing Day.
My dad just purchased this model - http://www.visions.ca/catalogue/cate...07&sku=YSP3300
It sounds incredible, but you're definitely paying for it.

I just got the Polk 5000 sound bar. It sounds pretty good compared to the tv speakers but nothing like my 'real' home theatre in the basement. I LOVE the bluetooth feature though, being able to stream music to it is a great feature.

I was looking at the Harman Kardon SB16, any thoughts on this unit? Seems pretty good, only complaint I see on the web is that it doesn't have volume control, so you have to adjust the source volume. Not sure how big a deal that is, kinda like the idea of one less remote.

Review says it's actually 1 HDMI, 1 HDMI out.

Yah. I see that now.
I'm actually looking at the HTCT660 model, which is the model up. It has 3 HDMI inputs, which is plenty.

Just checked Red Flag Deals. This soundbar is going on for $299.99 on Boxing day, which is $100 off.
I wonder if I can go pick it up tomorrow and then just come back on Boxing day with the receipt and get the difference?

Technically they won't allow any adjustments from the 24th until the 27th. Don't know if that offers you flexibility in adjusting the price afterwards since their conditions state the Price Beat promise does not apply to Boxing Day prices so seems kind of iffy either way.

Good point. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask, otherwise I'll lining up like the rest.

Just picked up this one from Future Shop in Shawnnessey. They had lots left. Saved $100. Very happy!

So, I have a stupid question
I have an Xbox and a blue ray, both connected to my TV via HDMI. How would I tell my devises to send my audio to the sound bar, but the video to the TV?
If I bought this soundbar, would I need to buy a receiver or an amplifier? I am guessing I couldn't cheap out on that either?
Thanks!

Xbox and blu-ray go into the soundbar HDMI ins, HDMI out from soundbar into TV. No amp/receiver required as the soundbar is powered. (at least the sony in question, but I think most, if not all, are powered)
