First one of five I'm guessing this year. As I am sure Arnold and Gaudreau weren't just taking in the game tonight for giggles and shats. Probably beginning the groundwork for their contracts to be signed after they're done their season.

Not sure about Gillies signing to go pro at the end of the year though.

But Poirier should be asap and Agostino as well.

I'd be super surprised if Gillies left, he's only in his second year at providence. I wouldn't complain though!

Arnold and Agostino will be in Abby for sure (if the Heat are still playing after their NCAA seasons are done).

Gaudreau I think is 95 - 100%

Gillies I would put at 75%. He may want to stay for a chance at a national title, but apparently he isn't big on school (won't post my source but mods can PM me) and I would not be at all surprised if he joined a playoff run for the Heat. He has nothing left to prove at the college level and he can get paid in pro.

I don't think it's a big stretch that Gillies could turn pro already after this season. He has been excellent in his two years at Providence and if the Flames think the AHL will be the right next step in his development, why not? Apparently he idolizes Jonathan Quick and he left college after two years too ... just saying

Gillies going pro this year is as likely as snow in December. He's publically stated he is not an academic so the degree is not appealing to him. This team does not have a starting goaltender so he has the opportunity to challenge for a spot. Plus he's outplaying his competition at the current skill level. Seems like a no brainer to me!

Happy to see klimchuk signed also, and looking forward to the next signing in the new year.

Glad to see all those damn fundraisers I supported have payed off for this kid!

Know his family, this kid has worked his butt off to get this far and I can't wait to watch him develop at a pro level.Way to go Morgs.

Strong skater that doesn't give up, and a very consistent producer for the Pats, just been battling injuries all year. Missed the Flames development or training camp, can't remember which one. Hasn't played all this week with another injury. Get to 'strength training' strong you fragile punk.

Nice to here about positive experience with a prospect. I hope Coda Gordon makes it one day. Being a broncos' alumni i may be basiesd. Klimchuk missed training camp ans MOST of prospect camp because of a adominal strain suffered i think day 3 (?) it maybe day 2but it was very early

I think that if your post hinges on his exact wording you should provide an actual quote.

Oh please, are we now going to use every signing, player movment or whatever as an excuse to bash Feater and co, give it a rest already

you are right . it was in a video that he said it. I can not provide a direct quote . My links never work nor do I have a physcical copy of said event. I will revise instead as the following. It is to my undrstanding that johnny gaudreau did ot except a professional contract of the bases he and his family felt another year of college(on the actual collegic part) would be beneficial for him. the tipping point apparently his brother able to be on the same team for once was a bonus to this decision. At least one year was apparent in is tone during the interveiw. Sorry i get lazy on my cell phone.

So a logistics question but when does Klimchuk actually get coin in his jeans? Does he get a signing bonus? Does he not get paid until he plays a regular season game? This could be two seasons away. Just curious how it actually works. I am sure Christmas this year in the Klimchuk house won't be any different.

Nice to have him signed. It will be real interesting to see if he can challenge for a spot in Calgary next season.

I believe they just receive a yearly signing bonus until they are done junior and then they receive their pro money depending on what league they are in (NHL or AHL)

Could be wrong though

I think he gets his SB right away. And obviously will not draw an NHL salary until he is on the NHL roster

I think he goes back to the Dub next year and plays in the WJCs.

And then hopefully just one year in Abby after that and stars for the Flames in 2016/2017

Agreed, although I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see him spend 2 years in Abby with a few cups of coffee. I'm not in a big rush with him or Poirier. Later 1st round picks take more time.
