Best Covers
I was going through my Music collection last night and realized that Ozzy does a bad ass cover of "Mississippi Queen" by Mountian. I mean the song was already a great one but he transformed this one into an AMAZING track. What are some of your guy's favorites?

Foo Fighters- Baker Street is my favorite cover. They took the song and made it their own...even though that's playing with fire they pulled it off IMO.

Sissy Bar has a cover of Snoop Dogg's "Got B***es in the Living Room."
No, I'm not making that up. :/

Reel Big Fish - Take On Me
Reel Big Fish - Hungry Like the Wolf
Reel Big Fish - Kiss Me Deadly
Reel Big Fish - Boss DJ
Reel Big Fish - New York, New York (a capella)
Reel Big Fish - The Main Street Electrical Parade (extremely rare, but it is neat to hear the Fish singin' and humming all the electrical sounding parts from the real song).
There are many other Fish covers, but those are the best.
Fish front man Aaron Barrett has a side project called the "Forces of Evil" that does covers of Dance the Night Away and Ball and Chain (Sublime)...both also very good.
Non-Fish (Pearl Jam) Covers:
Pearl Jam - Rockin' in the Free World (live)
Eddie Vedder - Hide Your Love Away
Pearl Jam - Last Kiss
Pearl Jam - It's Okay (also live)
I'm starting to think it's more the band that I like than the covers themselves.
Others:
Blackbird - Sarah McLaughlin
With a Little Help From My Friends - Joe Crocker (Wonder Years Themes)
Maybe I just like Beatles covers too?

Motorhead's take on AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top" is brilliant.

Hurt is good, but I still like his rendition of Rusty Cage even better.

Are you thinking of the countrified version of "Gin and Juice"? "got bitches in the living room" is a line in that song.

"Gin and Juice" by the Gourds I believe it is (might be Phish) is one of my favs
"All Along The Watchtower" as stated above the Hendrix, and DMB covers are both great
don't know if traditional songs really count as covers, if so half of Great Big Sea's collection (I'm not a huge fan of their own stuff)
just because there was a thread dedicated to her new CD the other day "Workin' Man" by Rita MacNeil is actually a really good song
When more come to me I'll post 'em

Yeah, it is without a doubt the greatest cover song in recorded history. It is the Gourds by the way.
