He's confident... its fine. People reacting to quotes like that is why all athlete interviews are boring cliche-fests.

Preach it. The NHL would be far more entertaining if players were welcome to speak their minds and be honest. People wonder why players like Roenick were so popular with the media - it's because they sometimes spoke outside the tight bounds of cliche.

Definitely. With Hudler on your line you just need to get to a scoring position with your stick on the ice and you'll get goals.

Looks like Canes are sending Lindholm to the WJCs.

Mackinnon had 3 points last night and is second in rookie scoring now with 19 points behind Hertl with 24 points.

Sneaky bugger after a slow start. At this pace, he could run away with the Calder pretty easily.

Monahan won't win the Calder unfortunately.. But I can still see him putting up 45-55 points, with at least 25 goals.

Tough to say that with 45-50 games left. He will be in tough but I think once Burke clears out some vets Monahan will start playing 20min + per game and potentially get back in that race

Hertl is expected to miss a month with an injury from last night. Apparently that is what his father is telling the Czech media.

Barkov also picking it up now when the Panthers have started competing. Five points in his last five games. If he had an elite winger like the others I think he'd be right up there with the rookie scoring leaders.

Tomas Hertl... available at our first round selection last year, before we dropped spots to pick wunderkind Jankowski, who, if you ask Feaster, will be the best player coming out of that draft. Apparently we knew something no one else did.
Ouch.

Hertl also has better line mates in SJ than he would if he was playing in Calgary which help his game.
