This is why I'm surprised Ottawa chose Glenn. I thought Maver would have been the best pick they could have made.
Round 2 is likely the most important round of the draft. First round of non-imports

Voted for Kodos

Losing Gkenn was by far the best option for Calgary. Awesome news. Essentially let's Calgary protect 3-4 more non imports, since now we don't have to worry about protecting kickers.

so now we can protect 8 non-imports?
Cornish
Mace
Wilson
Tsoumpas* free agent
Jones
Gott
Maver
Parades
Sinopli^
Parker^
We don't have to protect kickers anymore? ^if kickers need no protection
That means losing Fraser or Deane?

Ottawa can't take a kicker from Calgary so you don't need to protect Maver or Parades

Yeah, it's now 8 non-imports not including kickers that we can protect. This was pretty much best case scenario for us - we keep Tate & Mitchell plus both kickers and can protect most of our non-imports.

Actually, it sounds like the protected list for the non-imports had to be submitted before the draft began so if we had a kicker on it we probably don't get to replace them - we just get to add two additional players.

I bet there was some "wink wink, we'll take Glenn" from Campbell and Co. so the Stamps list probably didn't have kickers on there. In return we'll likely be sending Ottawa something later.

Wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure there were a few conversations along those lines - we'll leave player x available if you agree not to take players y & z.
I'm also sure there will be a few players chosen by Ottawa and then immediately traded. No doubt all eight teams were looking over the other protected lists to see if anybody they wanted was available.

I don't care what anyone says but DeMarco is a terrible, terrible, QB. Nothing spectacular about Chevon Walker, dude can't pick up a blitz if his life depended on it. James Lee intrigues me the most outside the QB's, he is a massive dude, could be their starting LT, he looked good in the two starts he made this season and the year before.
What I find pretty interesting is that Ottawa is basically using this expansion draft as more of an actual draft. They selected cheap, young players who they hope can turn into good players.

I assume the Argos protected Ricky Ray, so I'm really surprised the REDBLACKS didn't select Collaros.
