Michael Raffl's first 15 NHL games: 0 goals and 1 assist
Michael Raffl's latest 6 NHL games: 2 goals and 5 assists

not bad at all.

who's the Caps colour commentator? Something about that voice that's just ... annoying. Couldn't listen to that all the time.

Another entertaining game about to be ruined by the shootout.

That's different.

No real problem. Just think it's funny that some people still complain about the shoot out. Not a great way to decide a game, but that's NHL hockey.

Do your thing ladybrooooo

Disease is part of life, and disease sucks. The shootout is the NHL's disease. Just because it's part of the game doesn't mean people can't complain about it ... and justifiably.

I prefer the shootout to the tie. God I hated the tie ...

After two periods, it is scoreless between the Lightning and the Red Wings. Both teams played yesterday. Tampa came in from New Jersey while the Red Wings were at home.

The Panthers and Habs are also scoreless after one period.

Of the people I know who have/had cancer, not one of them spends/spent much time at all complaining about their cancer.

Complaining is useless in every single facet of life. There's no justification for sitting about and complaining, but people have every right to do so, just as I have every right to find it humorous!

Tyler Johnson makes it 1-0 Tampa. Such a free agency steal by the Bolts

Well good for them, but the shootout still sucks.

extend OT to 10 minutes, go to 3 on 3, do anything before re-instituting the baloney bs that is a tied finish. the other major sports don't settle for that stuff, so why should the NHL send people home at the end of the game with a serious case of blue balls (pucks?)

there was nothing worse in the pre-cap era than leaving a great game with the sense that nothing really got settled. I'll take the circus finish 10 times out of 10 over that.

The NFL allows ties. Not that the NHL should.

well yeah but it's so freaking rare that a lot of people aren't even aware it can happen. a whopping total of 3 tied games in the past decade:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._to_present.29

look at the confusion and indignation after it happened a few weeks ago. I especially love the comment about handing out capri sun and participation ribbons to everyone:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...s-in-26-26-tie

if it was that uncommon in the NHL it wouldn't have bugged me so much, but especially during the dead puck era, it felt like every other freaking game I went to was a tie.

I think people hate the frequency of the shootout more than the shootout itself, so make it rare like penalty shots (still exciting), and the complaints should hopefully die down.
