Hopefully Sven is watching what Byron does with his opportunity on the big club.

Byron on the win

Quote:
“I was really excited to come here in Buffalo,” said the 24-year-old Ottawa native who was rewarded with 14:20 of ice time, including 2:30 on the penalty kill. “This is a team that drafted me and I played two years in their organization. I was really excited for this game and to show my appreciation for what this organization.

“I just try to make the most of every opportunity. It started with the penalty kill and gradually got more ice time. Just trying to take every minute I get out there and use it to my advantage.”
Bob Hartley comments

Quote:
“It’s great,” said head coach Bob Hartley. “That was our plan. We flew in (Friday), we didn’t skate this morning because of the 2 p.m. (local) game. I’m not pleased with the start, I’m not pleased with the game, but I’m pleased with the result. That’s what we wanted.

“Sometimes, in this business, you deserve to win and you lose. (Saturday), I’m not saying we didn’t deserve to win but overall, I thought we could have been better. We found a way to win and we’ll take it.”
Sloppy win says Stajan

Quote:
“It was a sloppy game, no doubt about it,” Stajan said. “We had chances, both goalies made some saves. The goal we got called back was a tough one, especially in the last minute. Would have been a nice boost ... it was a weird game all over. We’re just happy we got the win.”

man, they keep winning and they're gonna suck picking crap during the drafts! They can't be serious about rebuilding if they keep winning when they're not suppose to.

Well, obviously ownership is already bored of the rebuild. So get used to it.

The fact we are playing as well as we are is a signal that the rebuild will not be a disaster like it has been in Edmonton. Players all on the same page and willing to work their tails off. Frankly i'm enjoying this so called rebuild and hope it continues.

The Oilers have tanked so hard for so long that they have forgotten how to win.

Correct me if I'm wrong....but by winning the game, don't the flames technically lose the battle of the suck.

Exactly. Losing should never be OK. My son is having a difficult time in hockey this year. The hardest lesson to learn is how to take losing. Is not Ok. It shouldn't depress you or cause you to pout, but it can't be sunshine and giggles right after as of it doesn't matter.

This scares me. Burkes comment about being impatient as well
What we need most right now is patience ,the lack thereof has been why we were such a "middling" team for soo long

Other than the last 5-6 minutes that game was aweful !

Just caught the highlights. Didn't really seem like the Flames deserved two points, but I'll take it!
