For anyone viewing this thread wondering what they may have missed from an afternoon game in Buffalo, the answer is…nothing. Dull as dishwater, that game was. Hard to even call it hockey.

He's got an assist on the goal on the nhl.com and ESPN.com box scores. Should he get two?

Oh yeah, Backlund has been great since they moved him off the 4th line.

i would love it if the flames could turn wideman into some valuable assets this deadline. I'd be fine with him on the flames mind you, as i think he's got some pretty good offensive instincts and helps the PP.
I don't think he's movable with his deal. I just think he needs his minutes reduced from over 26 to 21-22 minutes per game as he's not good enough in his own end to be on the ice for almost half the game.

Does anyone else think we have just been extremely lucky in all of these 1 goal games? Our goaltending has looked pretty shaky IMO.

Yes he's visible out there. I think with Nolan coaching now, Myers will start playing well. Butler for Myers.... get it done Burkie hahaha!

Sloppy game from the Flames + sloppier game by the Sabres = Flames win.

Another strong game for Ramo.

Thought Backlund and Byron were the Flames best forwards. Nobody else really showed up.

Some numbers on Byron:

in 7 games, on the ice for 5 goals for and 1 goal against, +4

despite the fact that 17% of his ice-time has been on the PK and most of the rest has been on the 4th line

helped orchestrate back to back OT winners

Maybe a little luck today with all of the iron, but Ramo also made some nice saves on good scoring chances. I'll enjoy it for now.

I think Byron got the short end of the stick in his time here in Calgary. He's always shown glimpses of what he could do but just couldn't buy the ice time due to varying factors. Like last year, broke his hand on his first shift, never saw him again. Glad he's pouncing on this opportunity to show he has the skill and compete to be on a NHL roster. Good for him.

Got to Admit, Ramo is grabbing the #1 job by the horns. Looking solid lately.

The Flames need to acquire Tyler Myers. He looked really strong today. Big and RH. The exact thing the Flames are needing.

Also I'd like to see Drew Stafford in Flames silks, I said it in GT but it's worth repeating.

Big time. It's becoming quite clear why a bunch of teams wanted him gone. He simply is terrible defensively. I hope we buy him out.

Karri Ramo last 5 games - 4-1, 7 GA, 1.40 GAA, .948 SV%.... He has been very good lately, which is awesome to see. Starting to see what he showed in the KHL. The team has played much better in front but he has been making timely saves

How bad are the Oilers? Flames are now 5 points up on them with 2 games at hand.

5 points up on the Oilers with 2 games in hand. The Flames are closer to 10th in the West than last.

Backlund with 5 points in his last 7 games, and continues to play well defensively.
