Was tonight's game on the companion channel? There seems to be a problem with that channel. There was a game earlier this year where the game started on the companion channel and was moved to Sportsnet West about 5 minutes in. It was a good 10 seconds out of sync on the companion channel, but fine on SNW.
The audio and video seem to be synced in the highlights on the Flames' website, which they usually aren't when people complain about the broadcasts.

Such a joke. You can spend 5.2 BILLION on getting the rights to the NHL, yet you can't fix your freaking audio to match the play?
It seriously is not enjoyable to know if it is in or not before the puck even leaves the guys stick.

I seriously lost a lot of enjoyment watching the game last night. It's always been bad, but last night was pathetic.
Is this a complaint for Oilers games as well? I don't know as I never watch them. Canucks? The odd time I am forced to watch a Leaf game on SNet with the father in law, I don't notice this.

Yes it happens to Oilers games as well. Can't comment on Canucks feeds.

Is everyone sure this is a sports net problem. The problem doesn't exist on the game center or center ice.

Didn't they say last year it has something to do with the digital ads?
I work in broadcasting (radio, mind you, not TV - so take these words with a huge grain of salt) and here's my guess. They run the video feed on a delay so the graphics guy can put up the digital elements you often see on the glass in either end without it just suddenly appearing after they have already been in the zone for 2 seconds. But the audio feed comes through separately and I imagine they haven't figured out an effective way to delay the audio to match the play exactly, or they just don't care to.
Again, I don't work in TV but have some minimal experience and that's all based on something I saw where they said it was based on the digital ads (can't remember if I read that on this forum or where - it was about a year ago).

Still a problem on their end, or they have to communicate with the providers at least. This isn't a problem for TSN, TSN2, or any channel that does live sports.

Happy belated 2 year anniversary SN! Two years and 5 days ago this thread was made and still no fix. It actually seems to be getting worse.

I watched last nights game with my thumb on the mute button.
Any time the Flames look threatening, I mute it.
I admit, it is a ridiculous way to watch a game. But it is no less ridiculous to put out such a poor product. It's gotten to the point where I hate when they switch to and from the main camera feed. You get the jump forward or backward in time.
Only 12 years right?

The only ads I saw on the glass last night were for Sportsnet Connected ... so its not like there is some mega demand for these ads that its worth killing the broadcast for...

I thought Kelly Kirsch was on 960's management team? If so, not sure what good emailing him would be, unless he forwards them on to the TV people.
Not sure that this is any better since it's so low on the totem pole, but perhaps if enough of us flood the inbox it'll raise a red flag. From SN's website:
