Yup, and at this rate, Homer can't get fired soon enough.

Short answer... Someone who isn't going to be Burke's puppet/proxy.
Long answer... Someone who is smart, educated, has a grounding in business/economics (and willing to apply it), some NHL F.O. experience but not just a retread/creme of the scrap-heap, experience in player development/scouting a plus, someone who appreciates scouts/stats equally, appreciates tradition but is not wedded to it.

He also signed Adam Pardy to that ridiculous $2 million contract.
Just a lemon all round.

Why would the Flames need permission, Dallas fired him already why would they even care. Also no to Regier, you may as well hire Sutter back.

Still under contract to the Stars. Same with Regier, if they want to interview him, have to ask Buffalo.

Kind of like asking an ex husband, who is paying alimony, if he would care if you married his ex wife.

Feaster did that with Babchuk and Sarich too though. Both press box guys. And we gave them NTC/NMC.

I'm surprised to see so many people wanting Regier. He did an excellent job building a competitive team on a budget, but it's been a long time since the Sabres were really a contender. It's great that he could fleece other teams in trades, but his lack of ability to build a team with any kind of identity really turns me off to the idea.

I believe they still technically employ him until his contract expires. IIRC L.A. needed to ask Calgary's permission to hire Sutter. They've been relieved of their duties not terminated.
Also: Big "NO" on Nieuwendyk. I'm pretty good with Fenton, I'd be happy if it were him.

I went to Calgary Job Shop.ca and they have not posted this opening same with Workopolis.
So much for me throwing my name in the hat.

Kind of funny that the same people who wanted to keep Feaster don't want Joe. Track records look pretty similar actually, yet one is a savior, the other is the plague.

The fact that he has very little NHL experience would be mitigated by having Burke.
The only thing that I wouldn't like about the hiring is that he would no longer be with the Hitmen.
|
I'm voting Kisio too. Honestly, I was hoping he was going to be the GM when they were announcing an assistant to Sutter.

Honestly it is really weird to see how far people here go to defend Feaster..... psychologically its actually quite facinating, moreso then the actual hockey part of these debates.

Blah. C'mon Burke if you have a hardon to interview a former Flame player at least make it Brian MacLellan.
