I guess we'll wait to see what happens, but from first blush, I'm not crazy about this move. I guess we'll see as soon as the first trade goes down.

How could you make this read?
Feaster was the guy who was directly quoted saying if you wanted a rebuild that he was the wrong guy for the job.
You have no clue what ownership is thinking and there's no evidence to suggest they're getting impatient with the rebuild.

Ferland got 96 points in 68 games in 2011-2012 for Brandon Wheat Kings.
As mentioned earlier, I think he is a power forward material and one of our most valuable prospects, and I'd love to see Baertschi - Monahan - Ferland 2nd line one day.

Frankly, I don't imagine good GM's are thrilled to be working for Burke. He's a total dictator, control freak, boor and bully. Why would a solid pro GM wish to be exposed to all of that? Burke loves being a GM, let him go at it.

Dreger tweeting Nieuwendyk as possible replacement. Wouldn't mind that at all. That said, I find it hard to be happy whenever someone loses their job. These people have families and stuff and now they're out of work. On one hand, it could be a good move for the Flames, but on the other hand, I feel bad for them as people.

I'm sure Burke wouldn't call the Sabres to give them a heads up on who he's hiring.

hahaha oh man, firing Feaster and then hiring Nieuwendyk would be like a cute girl giving you a hug and then turning around and kicking you in the nuts.

Nieuwendyk is a popular former player in Calgary, and seemed to do a pretty job as GM with the Stars. He and Burke can work together.

As @DarrenDreger suggests, Nieuwendyk would make a lot of sense for the Flames for obvious reasons... we shall see.

Anyone have a Carolina Jersey for tonight's game?
I am prone to over reacting when it comes to the Flames, but Niewy = Katz gong show level of stupidity.
Burke as GM and Ruff as coach, maybe? IDK

I get the feeling whoever takes the job has to be comfortable with the fact the Burke is running the show. So in essence it'll be a puppet.

Yeah but so did we with Anton Babchuk. I think at one point we were parking $8M in the press box.

I have not been impressed with alot of coaching decisions Hartley made this year.
Since Hartley is Feaster's guy, i think the writing is on the wall that he will be gone soon.

the oilers let go macT, he went on got a Queen's uni exec mba, and was rewarded with the GM position.
Let's hope burke has a better plan. It is important we take shots at the oilers even during such crazy times
