Ward can talk forever about Ferland haha. Just talking to Ferland you can really see the vast difference between 2012/13 Ferland and 2013/14 Ferland. He's a much better talker with the media as well.
Of all the prospects in the system I really want to see Ferland make it the most. Keep shining that egg, Ward!

Great article. Well written and insightful. Thanks!

Seems like he's gotten himself on the right track. He's my favorite prospect, and I'm really hoping he can take that next step. Hell, Jamie Benn was a 5th rounder, it can be done!

Looks great.

The blog read a bit like a newspaper article, if you don't mind me saying. It's a blog, feel free to add your own opinions to give it some flavour.

Great articles by both PMM and thymebalm, nice for the fans in Calgary to see and hear about the prospects. Another thing impressing me about the Heat is the size that some of the prospects have. Hanowski, Ferland, Reinhart all around 6' and 200#. I think the Flames system is addressing the size issue which should help them adjust to the next level.

Great job guys and thanks again.

Here's the latest post on Heat players in the NHL.

I had to post it now before the stats are out of date! Haha! I've got a game day post ready for tomorrow too! You can get to it from heathockey.wordpress.com too if you want to see how the main page is shaping up.

I think Ferland has the upside to be a 2nd tier power forward, something like Kyle Okposo or a Shane Doan.

Thanks.

I see him listed as 6' all the time. Which isn't small, but 6'2 is just that much more impressive. Plus, if he is able to put on another 10-15 pounds, then he's a legitimate power forward size in the bigs.

And not 10-15 pounds like he had before. I'm talking 10-15 hurting pounds. The kind that come from his new found hard work ethic, and the kind that jar guys when he takes the body or buckle a guys knees when he lands an uppercut.

It's Gameday!

Heat Hockey Headquarter's Preview

Quote:
December 11, 2013 – The Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre will be the battleground for a set of back-to-back matches between the Iowa Wild and your 1st place Abbotsford Heat. The Heat have won two straight, and the Wild have lost two, most recently in overtime this past Sunday against the Texas Stars

Abbotsford is returning the favor after Iowa played host to the Heat for a pair of games last month. The Heat, who have a reputation for being bad guests (11-4-0-0 on the road), shut down the Iowa Wild, leaving them pointless and allowing them to score only once in the two games.
Go Heat GO!

There is no question that he possessing a frame that is not plentiful amongst our skilled prospects. We've got size, we just don't have it attached to hands like Ferdaddy's. He's a project, but we could be looking at a winner.

Thank you for finally coming out of the writer’s closet. I’ve been wondering for sometime now exactly whose perspective you were voicing. With your revelation I now finally know. You’ve had too much insight into the inner workings and thoughts of a coach without being directly plugged in. I used to think WTF and now I realize exactly how TGW was getting his various message and opinions out. There you were all the time Mike C., the coach’s personal writer. You, your echoed insights and well placed stories have supported TWG personal biases. TWG has over the years blacklisted a number of players and he has enlisted your help and support to do so. So once again THANK YOU for coming out from behind what you weren’t claiming to be.

Please in the future, form your own opinions, talk to the players, listen to what’s going on, stop being the voice for someone else, exercise the independence a reporter is suppose to.

lol..it's always the coaches fault.

I don't even post all that often, and even I knew what Pierre's job was. It's no secret.

Pierre's insights are some of the best I've read and he is the king of the back burner forum as far as I'm concerned so stfu before he takes his insight elsewhere.
