Taking place in San Fransisco. The winner could turn pro. Article talks about 1 canadian living in South Korea who is making around $500,000 to play starcraft.

Man.. I should of kept playing games instead of going to school :P

Nope.

I used to play Quake 2 a tonne when it first came out. Got pretty good too. Never entered any competitions though.

I played CS as well, untill the cheaters took over the maps.
I have moved onto Americas Army, but my computer is tugging along at around 10-15 fps on most maps.
Doom 3 is fun, and the single player version is probably the scariest pc game from
id yet. But again, my pc is a peice o sh*t, just meets the min requirements.

I bought a notebook that hopefully will be up to snuff so I can play Doom 3 in
all its visual glory.

Wow. What kind of GPU does this notbook have? THe ultra Qulaity in D3 pretty much wanted 512 in exclusive video ram, as well as being a pretty high clocked card.

However the high settings seem to work fine with my 9600 XT AIW.

Just since you said "all its visual glory." lol

Doom 3 is probably the most repetative game of all time, so boring.

Call of Duty: United Offence is where its at.

Notebook has a Mobility Radeon 9700 128 meg on it.
1 gig ram, and 3ghz proc.

Its more than desktop GPU (Gefore Ti 550).

So maybe, all D3's visual glory might be a stretch.. but it will be better than playing at 640x480 on low settings
