I would be wearing my Atlanta Flames Guy Chouinard jersey I received as a Christmas present two years ago. I would also be wearing it while I sat on my couch to watch the game. The Heritage Classic in Calgary was probably the coldest I've ever been, so I have no desire to go to Winnipeg to top it.

I think the Coyotes make the most sense.

either that or Minnesota for a southern rival.

I don't think it will be one of the Canadian teams.

Gott think Minnesota is due for either a Winter Classic or Stadium Series game as opposed to a heritage classic invite

I agree 100%. It's the only way to make the alumni game special.

This is probably the only market in the NHL where it will be cold enough to host the event in October or March. That'll be fun.

They'll probably play the new Quebec expansion team that joins in 2015-16

Should be perfect weather for this sort of event... better than the rain in the upcoming one in Vancouver... should be funny when they close the dome in Vancouver and it becomes an indoor game.

An outdoor game in Winter-peg?

Guess it will be the "September" Classic that year...

Honestly I won't be surprised at all if it's an American opponent. Yes it would be the first American team in a "heritage" classic, but the NHL has already cheapened the outdoor games by holding 6 (well 5.5 if we're honest about Vancouver) games in a single season.

My gut says:
Minnesota: Closest geographical opponent, making for a nice rivalry
Chicago: Assuming the Winnipeg boy Toews is still captain it's a no brainer
Edmonton: If they stick with two Canadian teams, the Oilers/Jets have a playoff history

Regardless of opponent, I just may make the trip home to MB for this one.

Outdoor games are garbage and overdone and no longer interest me. The NHL has ruined a good thing. Keep it once per year with new teams every year. It's too late for that though, for me, they're ruined. I wish thy stopped doing them all together.

Well, knowing Winnipeg this promises to end pretty much exactly like 'The Shining.'

Outdoor games are a meh for me these days. They had worn off their novelty.

Unless they are having a game at some hot sunny location like Hawaii or Miami Beach.

I agree. The league is going overboard whoring these outdoor games. They make money and generate attention so I understand why they are having more of them but IMO this feels like it's crossing that "too much of a good thing" line.
