When we had the Calgary Cannons, that was actually a higher calibre league than the CFL. It is a shame the city didn't embrace that team better. It was incredible baseball, and some incredible Major Leagers came through town over the years.

I love the CFL, but you can't compare the two. NHL>Football any day

The Okotoks Dawgs provide incredible baseball. When you're averaging between 3 to 4 thousand fans pre game they must be doing something right. That and a state of the art ballpark helps with that too. Make the drive and find out

The Cannons were excellent baseball and I was very sad when the team left Calgary. It's a shame they had to play in a dump of stadium.

There's nothing else to do in Okotoks, Dion. No one needs to drive there to determine that.

Let's put it this way: I'd rather see the Hitmen win a Memorial Cup than see the Stamps win a Grey Cup. Hockey town by far.

Yeah the AAA baseball teams were pretty sweet back in the day. A lot of top big leaguers came through the Cannons and Trappers. It's a real shame they couldn't be kept in Alberta.

We'll have to arrange a CP meet and Greet this summer. Nothing like a few cold beers while watching some great baseball.

I meant to check out the Dawgs last summer to fill the void left by the Vipers.

But don't you go trying to convince anyone there's anything else good to do in that god forsaken town. BURN IN HELL OKOTOKS.

^Best thing to do in Okotoks is go to Calgary.

The nice part, when you get sick of Hipsters and latte sippers you can go back to Okotoks. Win/win

Place was a dump and it also ruined pitchers.

I love the Stamps, I am old enough to remember when they were the only game in town , for long time native Calgarians the Stamps will always be relevant .... that said I have never bought season tickets for the Stampeders but have been a Flame season ticket holder since 98 ... I will say that the CFL is the only league that I will watch regularly when Calgary is not involved.... I love both(Calgary) teams .... I think todays Calgary is much more a hockey town than football , not so much pre-Flames ....

I really don't care if you like the CFL or not, but its always hilarious to see people trash the league.

Everybody knows the NFL has better talent. There is nothing wrong with being passionate about a local team that cant attract 25K+ fans at home games.
