Yeah, pretty remarkable what he's done this year, what with the injuries they've had. If last year was MVP worthy, then this year is doubly so. Hope he gets a championship (or an Olympic medal!) to go with these personal achievements someday.

And really, who are we kidding...Magic wasn't a point guard. Those Laker teams didn't use a point guard.
Nash is a special player, that's for sure.

In case anybody wants to read something from a hometown perspective.
Needless to say it is very cool to see a local kid who went to SMUS (local private school five minutes away) hit not only the big time, but reach pretty much the pinnacle of achievement.
I mean, jeez, I went to one of his basketball camps here a decade ago when he was pretty much a nobody. Now he's a superstar who has won back to back MVP titles. It's really mind boggling. A scraggly kid from Victoria of all places who went to a high school that plays pretty much nothing but rugby. Then he goes and wins the 1992 provincial championship, the only title SMUS has ever won in basketball. Then he goes to Santa Clara, the only school in the states that would take him, and even then it was only as a favour to his high school coach. Then goes to the NBA. Then he wins 2 MVPs. Just crazy.
We're all so proud of him.

Here's something to think about:
Is Steve Nash the greatest Canadian athlete of all-time? I mean sure we have Gretzky and everything, but think about it...how improbable is it to have a Canadian win back to back MVP awards in the NBA?
Also, like Octothorp said, last year some argument could be made about the players around him...ie.playing with Amare Stoudamire and Shawn Marion will make anyone look pretty good. This year however, he did it without Stoudamire, and Shawn Marion was a good player, before the Nash days, but the team certainly wasn't good, and I would argue Marion has gotten better as a result of playing with Nash.
Aside from maybe Gretzky, Steve Nash is the greatest Canadian athlete of all time. Period.

I don't think it's fair to start comparisons about Nash's 2nd MVP trophy to any other accomplishments by other great Canadian atheletes.
What I will say is that Nash's success shows how great anyone can be if they choose to work, and work hard, at getting there. Not to mention that he seems to be be a very nice guy off the court, that shuns publicity, and a proud canadian to boot. Two great stories:
I remember seeing CBC interview him in Salt Lake after he made the journey there to watch Team Canada play for the gold medal and how excited he was to cheer for Canada.
the second story was during the Summer olympics, where Nash refused any special treatment-to be treated the same way as his team mates-including flying charter, sleeping with a room mate in the Olympic village and also giving his team mates thousands of dollars each so that they could enjoy their olympic experience without having to worry about money.
Truely, it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
