Stuff to do in the Toronto area
The fiancee and I are going to the greater Toronto area at the end of the year. I figured that in the vast intelligence of the wonderful people of CP, there has to be some experience with Toronto. I searched and found Hemi-Cuda's thread, but it's a couple of years old and I am just curious if there are any new things to do.
We'll be staying in Brampton, and will have Saturday during the day, all day and night Sunday, and Monday during the day free. We'll be able to drive pretty much anywhere, as long as we're back to Brampton by 6(going up for some hockey)
We'll definitely be hitting the HHOF, and I'd love to check out the St. Lawrence Market. Aside from that, and making a couple restaurant stops in the Chinatowns, we'll pretty much be looking for something to do. Any help?

St. Lawrence market is closed on Sunday. The ROM is great as mentioned or The Art Gallery of Ontario, really great and it is right near Chinatown and the Kensington Market which is very cool. Yorkville area is really pretty, lots of high end shopping if you are into that. Harbour front, Steamwhistle Brewery, Queen street, all good spots. Burgers Priest, voted best burger in Toronto.

Be aware that the distances can be deceiving. That downtown to Brampton run could take you at little as 30 min or you could be stuck for over an hour. Make sure you ask if any of the highways are closed (construction season all year long here). TO be back in Brampton by 6, leave downtown by 5.

The traditional response to this question is "hookers and blow"
but in your case it's "hookers and blow with Rob Ford" which just far more epic

Moved to Toronto from Calgary a few years ago, and actually live a block away from Wayne Gretzsky's and Second City.
Ripley's Aquarium just opened near the CN Tower, and gets decent reviews. For a Calgarian, you may want to check out a Raptors NBA game at the ACC.. (or a Leafs game, but as a Flames fan like me, I'm assuming that it won't sit well to pay those prices to watch them bums)
Food-wise, what are you into? I'm assuming Chinese based on going to Chinatown.. but Toronto is an awesome eating city. Let me know.
By the way - if you're into Indian food and are in Brampton.. my favorite place is there called Tandoori Flame.
If you're going to HHOF, an interesting place to eat is at Marche just beside it on Yonge.

try to catch a game at Real Sports (next to the ACC), best sports bar ever.
heck, if you can get into the ACC for a Sat hnic game, even better. Been to a few nhl buildings, but despite hating the leafs, the ACC is a pretty nice hockey arena/experience.

All good suggestions. Some notes:
- I would save Ripley's Aquarium until the daytime on Monday. Lines are supposed to be pretty brutal on weekends.
- Best Dim sum (without being crazy high-end) in Chinatown is at Rol San. It doesn't use carts, but little menus. Great selection and freshness. Go early (before 11:00am) if you don't want to wait in line. However, since you are out in Brampton, there are likely great places out there.
- If you like art, AGO is top notch. You can easily do Dim Sum, do a loop through Kensington market, then walk the 3 blocks west to the AGO. A couple more blocks west of AGO is Momofuko for a noodle bowl before heading home.
- Hockey Hall of Fame is close to St. Lawrence Mkt. It is yuppier than Kensington, but all inside. You could just do the Hockey Hall of Fame then ride the subway up to Yorkille/ROM - though that is a lot of "museum" time.
- You could also look into a theatre performance or music:
http://www.toronto.com/things-to-do/
- Eat. A lot. High end lunch or low end, there is food everywhere. Both Markets have great food, so maybe go hungry.
You want Burger's Priest:

The Toronto city pass looks like something that may be pretty good to buy.

Thanks a ton, folks - definitely made a few additions to the travel schedule. I really appreciate it. The Leafs are at home on that Sunday, but I'd rather shove sharp things into soft spots on my body than watch the Leafs and 'Canes play.
