Default Oilers-Flames Should Ference pay a price?

Discussed at length after the last game. Ference jumped Stempniak after a clean hit and knocked his teeth out, depending on your perspective, maybe one of the biggest slaps in the face to the flames in the last few years.

Where do you stand - should Lane Macdermid or Shane O'Brien grab Ference and just start throwing before he gets his gloves fully off and relieve him of a few chicklets like he did to Stempy or is it water under the bridge now? If you do think he has to answer up, should it be after a game is decided or does it trump result now that the flames are out of the playoff picture?

Best remedy is to make em pay where it really counts - on the scoreboard.

A few of these would send a message to Ference.

Nope. Flames had their chance durring the last game and ellected to do nothing. The only reason there should be pay back further along the schedule is when the player is injured and misses some time, or the player that caused the altercation was given a game misconduct.

Should have been dealt with at the time.

Unless Stempniak wants to do something about it.

But I won't shed any tears if someone grabs Ference and just tees up.

I don't really need an excuse to want to see Ference get banged up. Not injured, but a tilt with McGrattan would be nice to see. They really should have answered the last game though.

All of the Oilers should have to pay the price for being Oilers.

This is the Battle of Alberta. Play with some damn heart!

The retaliation should have already happened. That said, irregardless of the score I hope Mr. Ference leaves the game down a couple chicklets and is reminded that nobody jumps the Flames.

Sure, why not. Never a bad thing to have an Oilers face beat in

This is the softest team in the league. No chance of that happening, especially with McGrattan out.

Ference should have to answer for the Stempniak incident. Plain and simple. I was actually shocked that no Flames player gave him so much as a dirty look the rest of that game.

Maybe not a fight, but if I was Hartley, I'd be sending McGrattan (if he plays tomorrow) into his corner all night to remind him of who's waiting for him if he pulls a stunt like that again.

McGrattan wouldn't have done anything anyway...he only fights other goons in staged fights that keep their jobs relevent

This kind of retaliation led to the Bertuzzi incident.

If you think retaliation should occur, you are a bad fan and want the game of hockey to be ruined. Shame on you.

Ference is a bit of a punk, so I wouldn't be to sad to see him get rag dolled, but I don't think it's coming from the Flames tomorrow.

I want to atleast see Ference and MacDermid drop the gloves. No dirty hits, no garbage, just a straight up tilt to own up to what he did
