This looks like a mid-model re-design, and they won't have done that to just bring out a new 50th anniversary car in a year. Although reading that aloud, it sounds exactly like what they should do.

Indeed it is. My mistake. Consider me extremely let down then.

The way things are going we're only a few more generations away from losing windows all together.

And that sloping belt line thing all the SUV's are getting? It's OK, I wasn't planning on shoulder checking through that 3" high rear passenger window anyway. And what's with the postage slot rear window? Since you can't use your back up camera on the highway it would be cool to be able to see from your rear view mirror. It seems like they design cars so that by the time your tall enough to see over the high belt line all you can see is head-liner in front because the windshield is so short.

One of reasons why I prefer older cars myself is the greenhouse is huge...and you can actually see out out of the things, which I find kind of important. New cars just feel way too bulky and tank-ish in general...especially when it comes to pillars. When driving my wifes car (an otherwise fairly boxy and glass heavy V50), there have been a few times where I'm turning at an intersection where I've had a couple of close calls because the pedestrians are completely covered by the pillar. The thing is huge.

I can see where Green Lantern is coming from with his nostalgia for older cars. I'm kind of the same (although my preferences lie in 80s German metal, because that's where I forged my love for cars as a child).

There's something fun and liberating about not having so much safety and tech in your car. You just feel a little more connected. You're probably going slower, and you're definitely not as safe, but the feeling is better. Electronic steering, nanny-tech, raised seating positions, ultra quiet cabins....it's all nice, but kind of numb inducing.

I think the current Mustang looks a little better than this.

It's actually so long we've heard of this redesign happening, and with the hype machine, this is all they could muster? I don't like this redesign as it's just a minor evolution, and it looks like a hack of the new Honda Accord. The back looks pretty plain between the brakelights as well as the front and the rounded side blindspot windows look less than refined. All in all, it simply doesn't look sharp enough when competing with other manufacturers.

Minus the GT .

Top goes down in less than half the time of the outgoing model, too. I think mine is under 20 seconds up/down, so that should put this at less than 10 seconds.

I like it!

I am waiting for more info on the 2.3L Ecoboost option, that could be a great addition to this car...
