Count me as disappointed, but this will ultimately be best for his development. Monahan is the real deal and is best served competing in the NHL.

That was just tweeted less than a minute ago, how....just, how?

Also, interesting decision. I would have thought it would be valuable for him to play in meaningful games and a chance at a championship.

He belongs in the NHL, glad he's going to stay here.

Disappointed that he won't be going but hard to be too mad about him staying in the NHL.

Posted it in the prospects thread, but Rafikov is invited to Russia's selection camp, so we might have 2 prospects to watch in the WJCs. Also of course, a bunch of draft eligible players that could end up with the Flames next year.

Do you ever stop and wonder just how unhappy your life would be if the Cardinals weren't a perennial WS threat? The Flames, the Lions and the Cardinals, I guess one out of three means you didn't get shut out...

EDIT: I agree with the premise, subject matter and conclusion of this Moon post.

EDIT 2: And this was post #2600. Basking is in order, for sure.

Sucks for Sieloff, but not unexpected at this point. At least he got his chance last year.

Will the Flames let Monahan goto the Olympics though? I hope not. He needs the rest.
