Default NHL 2K6 for XBOX 360 Sux

wow, mondo disapointment dude...

So I've had an XBOX 360 for a while now, but just recently got a decent TV so that the HighDef signal would look good. I was quite blown away, and despite my spidey sense going off, I felt that I needed to get a hockey game for it, and since there is no EA title available yet, I decided to pickup 2K6 while at Costco

Well, holy crappy software batman...

Poor pixelated graphics
game designers must not know anything about hockey (first time ever that I have taken a face off on the hashmarks instead of face off dots

oh, and the cream - Bob Cole and Harry Neale as colour guys - and the scary thing is - they are actually better on the XBOX than on CBC

Anyway, I feel oddly satisfied now that I have gotten that off of my chest...

I'm waiting until NHL07 is released before I pick up the XBOX360

I bought NHL2K5 for my XBOX for the hell of it a few years ago, just because it came out a few weeks before NHL05 and it was cheap. Not making that mistake again, barely played it for 2 hours and it's never been out of it's case since.

2k7 at this point isn't looking that much better, at least in terms of graphical improvements

I like 2k6... online. Even online I feel the game to be very buggy. I have had 2 wins against very good players and they didnt count, but sure enough it never seems to skip a loss. The biggest pet peeve of the game is the fact that a wrister from the slot never misses.

2k3 was pretty good for gameplay, but then the series fell apart.

Is it too much to ask for a hockey game that plays like, well you know, hockey?

well it has been pretty well documented that NHL 2k6 for the 360 isn't any better than it was for the regular xbox.

As one poster said since 2k3 the series has steadily gone downhill. That said the EA franchise has been worse the past 5 or 6 years.

Both series need a complete overhaul before I ever buy one again.

I've turned to Winning Eleven and Fifa...much more entertainment value in those soccer games than any sprots game I've played.

Yea, every since Madden bought the liscense, I've been more than leery of that, one of my favorite franchises, always loved the competition between them and the 2k sports games.

I watched a show on G4TV a while ago that explained that it was the NFL who approached EASPORTS about working out an exclusive deal since they just wanted one company doing their games. I'm not a Football fan so I could care less but that's what it said.
