The way things are going, there might only be one Canadian team in the playoffs this year.

I wasn't watching game 1 tonight. Did Cherry say anything about the deal?

That would be poetic justice to the CBC and TSN who were happy with the new divisional format and I hope the only canadian team to make the post season would be the Canadiens. That would be ironic considering that the CBC has been conceeding its viewers to watch the Habs on RDS for a decade.

The CBC did offer over a billion dollars for a seven to ten year contract.

The jumping around from game to game still happens on NHL on the Fly and still do indepth highlights. I enjoy it but I do feel for viewers who want to see this channel HD.

I called Telus on the weekend and cancelled my sports package. I'll re-order for the Olympics but cancel again afterwards. That means no TSN, Sportsnet, NHL360 (AKA The Score), NHL on the Fly.

I find the Flames insight to be limited on both networks, and for what it is worth, I find listening to Peter Mahar to be more enjoyable than watching the games on TV. (not sure why). I'll listen to the games live and am looking forward to that.

I'll catch the occasional game and try to make it down to Calgary for a game this year with my kids, but I'm not regretting the decision.

on the bright side, I don't need to listen to how great the Leaf's practice was day after day.

I wonder if Sportsnet showing women's beach volleyball is an olive branch being extended.

Listened to Tim and Sid and they announced Nick Kypreos as a part of Hockey Night in Canada, could it get any worse?

Little tidbit here - http://www.awfulannouncing.com/2013/...medium=twitter

The Sunday games will be shown on City TV and not Sportsnet (at least that is present plan).
Wednesday - Sportsnet
Saturday - CBC/Sportsnet/City
Sunday - City

They really seem to be setting up a $10/month Sportsnet Flames option to watch all their games, with probably about 1.5-2 Flames games on OTA or basic cable. Keeps the Flames happy by allowing enough games on regualr tv to generate and maintain interest, but getting the fans to pay if they want all the games.

I think he was already on last week was he not? I was at a pub and swear I saw him on during the Leafs-Habs game

Yes, he was on during the second intermission.

Ron had a good line for Nick. "Next season, remember you have to choose a Maclean". I lol'd.
