Not sure what to make of that possibility...Jones appears to be a hot head and could lose his control if he doesn't manage his temper.

I just wish Cohon would reverse his decision on keeping the expansion draft and protected lists for each team private. Opening this up would create a tremendous buzz for the league and I don't buy his protecting the integrity of the game answer.

—When Terry Jones asked him about the decision to keep the lists of players protected and unprotected in the forthcoming Ottawa Redblacks expansion draft private: "We've talked about this a lot. We've talked about this from the perspective of our fans, we've talked about it from the perspective of media, what sort of interest there would be in it, we've talked about it from the perspective of our players and our coaches. I have to wear many hats as commissioner and I can't always make everyone happy."

"As I think about this, I thought the most important thing as it comes to the draft was that we need to protect that relationship between players and coaches. Imagine in your newsroom, Terry, if your publisher said we're going to rank the top 20 reporters and figure out who we're going to protect. What sort of tension would that create in the newsroom? I think it would create a lot of tension. And I think that's my job. My job as commissioner is to protect the integrity of the game."

Cohon also saying they will be trying to find the Argos a new permanent home instead of playing at Rogers centre.

Calgary is so far behind in stadiums its sad.

BC Lions:

Toronto:

Has Rogers centre and talks of a new permanent home.

Winnipeg:

Montreal:

Has the olympic stadium if they wish

Edmonton:

Commonwealth, isn't great but a lot better than Calgary.

Sask:
Building new stadium

Hamilton:

They got really cool private suites and stuff, nice looking stadium.

Ottawa:

Calgary:

Calgary with the worst, most outdated Stadium with zero plans for anything else.

The most money in the country and we have the worst stadiums, quite sad...

Ticats' Brandon Boudreaux pulls a Joe Namath, guarantees a win.

Quote:
"It's mesmerizing. I can't say I feel like we have it already because we still have to play the game but ... we have it already," the Hamilton Ticats defensive end said. "I'm making a guarantee we're going to win this game."

Sounds like Hervey has offered Chris Jones the Esks HC job.

Speaking of head coaching openings, Bob Irving says the HC search is down to Mike O'Shea & Khari Jones in Winnipeg. The intelligent choice would be Mike O'Shea IMO.

Well done Canada

Terry Jones ‏@sunterryjones 7s
Grey Cup hits 4.5 million viewers on TSN. Incredible average considering game was effectively over before half time. 4th highest ever.

Calgary has the best sightlines in the leauge to watch football. Especially great value for the superwhites. A new stadium might have more bathrooms and a better concours, and better food. But a new stadium will have on average worse views for football.

The Edmonton Eskimos don’t have a head coach quite yet, but a candidate is now in Edmonton.

Toronto Argonauts defensive co-ordinator Chris Jones arrived in the city on Monday and was spotted being picked up by Eskimos general manager Ed Hervey at the Edmonton International Airport.

Sources close to the situation said that Jones’ arrival in Edmonton didn’t solidify a hire yet. Rather, it was a visit to the city for Jones, who has been an assistant coach around the Canadian Football League for 12 seasons, winning Grey Cups in each of his three stops (Montreal in 2002, Calgary in 2008 and Toronto in 2012).

During the Grey Cup in Regina this past week, stories surfaced suggesting that Jones would be the next Eskimos head coach. Jones’ arrival in the city adds fuel to that fire, as Hervey told the Journal’s John MacKinnon on Friday that only one coaching candidate would be coming to this city.

“The one that comes to Edmonton will be the one that is announced as the head coach,” Hervey said then.

Jone's is a good defensive co-ordinator but I have a feeling he will fail miserably as a head coach.

will be fun to see how CJ handles the HC reigns. I think his temper will be a problem, but he will be better than the last joke...and thats a problem.
CJ has had great mentors in his last two gigs.

Chris Jones and Ed Hervey are both strong personalities, Ed Hervey also likes control, one area were I think Chris Jones is going to help in Ed Hervey's deficient area is finding players, hes being doing it for years with Calgary and Toronto, and he has found some good ones. Now over time it will result in the butt of headings?

Say all you want about Kavis Reed because he was a terrible coach but his players would run through a wall for him. Chris Jones is the is the polar opposite, now maybe he can combat some of those problems if he surrounds himself with "player coaches".

I don't know but my gut feeling says this going to end badly with management clashing, and players going from a guy they love to a guy they are going to hate. And it's expected Craig Dickenson will join him in Edmonton as his ST's co-ordinator.

Other CFL coaching rumors going around that I have read/heard the last few days.

Mike O'Shea and Khari Jone are the two finalists for the head coach job in Winnipeg, believed to be leaning towards Mike O'Shea, but don't rule out Khari Jones landing in Winnipeg though as it believed he will named the offensive co-ordinator if he doesn't get the head coach job.

Like Dave Naylor said on Sunday and the last few weeks the head coach job is likely down to Paul LaPolice and Marcel Bellefeuille in Ottawa. Don't rule out Tim Burke being named Paul LaPolice's defensive co-ordinator if lands there, then again with Chris Jones now in Edmonton his name has been linked to Toronto as has Casey Creehan for the vacant defensive co-ordinator.

Paul LaPolice has also said on record he will only leave TSN for two jobs the one I just mentioned and the now vacant offensive co-ordinator in BC, he and Mike Benevides are close. Montreal also apparently contacted Paul LaPolice about their vacant offensive co-ordinator position.

Speaking of Montreal its believed Bob Wetenhall wants to save money and Jim Popp will return to the sidelines next year, Noel Thorpe is a rising star in the coaching ranks so in 1 years time he will named the head coach in Montreal?

George Cortez is a free agent and perhaps the biggest name out there on the coaching side because he has five Grey Cup rings as a coach, he has publicly said he doesn't want to leave Saskatchewan. With Khari Jones expected to go to Winnipeg as the offensive co-ordinator don't be surprised if Doug Sams as end up as the QB coach if George Cortez ends up back in Saskatchewan. He and George Cortez are close.

Winnipeg should hire George Cortez as their head coach. He can then sign Khari Jones as an OC. Winnipeg better get their act together and hire someone good. If Cortez doesn't end up in Winnipeg, Chris Jones might go after him as an OC for the Eskimos.

LaPolice will definitely be coaching next season either with BC or Montreal as their Offensive Coordinator or even as a head coach for Ottawa. Tim Burke will end up in Ottawa as well and become DC for that team. Chapdelaine might also end up in Ottawa as OC.

Wow, we are going to see a lot of recycled coaches in the CFL next season.

I am never a big fan of Chapdelaine. I never like him when he was OC for Calgary because I thought his play calling was boring. I was actually surprised he did well in BC and stayed there for awhile. He might end up in Ottawa or even Winnipeg.
