Didn't look like much of a punch when you watch the replay. Anyways the players are idiots for even swinging/fighting when a linesmen is in between them.

Hopefully that player is pretty much thrown out of the league.

That was pretty disgusting, when a official steps in you stop throwing punches. Not try to get a sucker punch in which is what I'm thinking that player was trying to do.

Someone getting knocked out and receiving a possible head injury is far from funny.

Goon hockey.

edit, this is a prime example of a backfire post. "Wait until I post this, everyone will laugh and I'll be hyper popular on the board". Then Blammo "OMG everyone thinks I'm a jerk"

Usually if a person gets ko'd they go down in a heap. There is no protecting themselves, they are out. He gently slid down and braced his fall.
Dazed perhaps as he was punched and lost his balance. Knocked down but definitely not knocked out.
No doubt the player connected to his nose/chin, maybe the ref saw white lightning i doubt it.
Wrong place wrong time i doubt if the player did it on purpose.

Unfortunate, but I think he meant to punch the opposing player and not the ref. Hope hes alright.

Thats garbage. No way. I'm sorry, everyone loves to hate on refs, I'm no better, but those guys put up with a ton of crap for very little pay and they dont deserve this bulls###.

I'm with the Captain, toss the punk out of the league.

The BCHL is full of stuff like this.

Just an awful quality of hockey and a lot of idiotic players. Trying to sucker-punch an opponent when the ref has stepped in is small-scale...a player got into a fight with a fan last year even in West Kelowna.

To the OP defence it was a hockey buddy, who judging by his post, is ok. That is the main reason why he thinks it's funny.

Sorry . didn't realize I had to spell it out.. only funny because of locker room humor.. As for the linesman.. He's laughing it off and denying he was knocked out.

I can see how the OP would think it was funny. He clearly knows the back story and the fella getting punched.

I can think of a large number of times that I or friends have done something stupid, or had something stupid happen, and only after it was confirmed everyone was ok, we sit around and laugh about it. Everyone sits around and has a "can you believe that just happened moment?"

Maybe the OP should have put something in the original post saying that buddy was fine and it is was a one of those moments.

The post as it reads is a bit D-bagish.
