Like we saw in the Minnesota game, if you don't do anything he'll just continue running guys, so good on Columbus for getting that.

That was a thorough beating by CBJ. Nice.

I was suspecting some suspend-able dirty play given the thread title and nature of the posts.
Look at the game situation...Leafs were getting blown out in there own building so the game was starting to get chippy.

The "hit from behind" while not necessarily malicious could have easily resulted in an injury if Calvert fell awkwardly into the boards. It was technically an illegal check by Kadri and a dumb move considering he's already in hot water for the stupid hits he made last week. Anyways, Calvert gave him a shove and Kadri retaliated with the slash. I would have given them both minors for that and then majors for the fight.

Absolutely not a joke. Gutless and cowardly move by Kadri to hit him from behind in that situation.

Personally I think the shove from behind was still dirty and dangerous.

Doesn't make it any less dirty just because Calvert was strong enough to stay on his skates.

This is such an idiotic argument. Fighting didn't stop him from getting suspended nor did it stop him from throwing a hit from behind and it sure didn't stop him from slashing Calvert. So what makes you think this fight will make a difference?

Because Kadri got beat up after he did that crap. Next game he might not slash someone or hit them from behind because he'll remember that when you pull crap like that, someone is going to make you pay for it.

Next game, if someone says to Kadri "you pull any crap like that today, you'll be eating through a straw" then he most likely won't do anything dumb.

Um did you miss the last 100 years in the NHL entirely? Why haven't dirty plays been curbed yet? Is this the first time an NHL player has been beat up?

Just an epic move really, Calvert is the man and one of my new favorite players not on the Flames. I would have done the same except not have waited for Kadri to get his gloves off.

Lol well he just got back from a suspension and look what that taught him. Pretty sure he learned more from getting beat up than the suspension.

Based on what?

How many games has he played since?

Let's see a large body of evidence before we crown that beat down a success.

Well at the end of the day Kadri got what was coming. Will it change his ways? Probably not, but he wasn't very effective in that game.

Eventually his team mates will stop jumping to his aid so easily if he keeps acting like an idiot.

That very well may happen, but only time will tell.

I actually have no issue with him being #### disturber like that. Neither the hit or the slash seemed overly malicious to me. The list of NHL players that do that sort of thing is long, and many have even played for the Flames. I don't remember too many people getting upset about Neiminen giving Joseph a flying elbow or Cammalleri punching Havlat in the face right off the faceoff. Glencross is usually good for a couple of these a season as well.

I also don't have an issue with the ensuing beat down either. If you're going to be a #### disturber, then it's the risk you take. Kadri had that one coming.

I've advocated that the Flames need a player or two that play right on that edge that can get opposing teams off of their game.

We haven't had that kind of guy since Nemo. I thought Aliu would fill that roll but he flamed out.

I see both sides of the argument here - Dion Phaneuf is sick of the entire opposing team running after him after delivering a clean open ice hit, so he's significantly cut back on his highlight reel hits these days. It just took him half his career... Kadri isn't going to become a dove out there because of 1 or 2 incidents either.

Bluck Thanks for posting the fight. Kadri didn't get punched enough for my liking, little weasel.
