Washington are going to look very very when this is all said and done. Traded away a young, fairly early 1st round pick for a guy who will net, what, a 2nd in return max?

Scored 9 goals in 67 games last year after 3 years in the AHL. Not that good. Probs won't make NHL.

I can't see Erat having much value. The Flames should contact Washington to see what a Backlund and/or SOB package would fetch.
Maybe Backlund, SOB
for Erat, Pick/Prospect
Otherwise, do not want.

I would trade Chris Butler for him.
That is all.

To be fair, I believe everyone involved in the Erat deal thought he would succeed in Washington. His cap hit hurts too many teams to drum up any real bidding war. And he's in a no win scenario as well, as he cannot produce as much in the alotted ice time he is being given. Sucks for all parties.

I really don't want anyone that takes his dirty laundry to the media.
Our most important objective this year isn't to win, it is build confidence and chemistry with the younger guys. We need mentors, not individuals seeking a news bite.
Erat might be good, but go be good somewhere else. He has shown an inability to work in a team setting. Pass.

Erat asked for a trade from Nashville because he didn't want to be part of a rebuild.
He won't waive his NTC for Calgary.

And now he's asking a trade out of Washington?
Sounds like quite the primadonna
Want do not.

I can see PHX trading for him. They have a surplus of dmen and I think that's Washington's weakness, perhaps a Klesla for Erat type of trade.

That would be a terrible trade. Klesla is a solid Dman in exchange for a wantaway headcase.

I don't want him either but if he was given top 6 minutes here vs. riding the pine in WASH, maybe he would come here.
Perhaps there's an opportunity for a three way deal with us as the conduit.

Was wondering if he had a NTC. That settles that argument then.
So maybe a good for him is Vamcouver, sounds like they need some scoring help. Maybe him with the Sedins. They would have to trade Tanev to have the cap space I think and then throw in a pick.
That really is the only team I can think of that is in win now mode that could really use him and give up a piece or two that aren't that bad of a trade.

I could see a Martin Erat for Tuomo Ruutu deal going down.

Klesla was a healthy scratch a couple of games ago. With Stone/Rundblad emerging, not to mention their prospects like Gormley/Murphy, I think it'd be good for PHX. Erat had 57 pts just 2 seasons ago, might fit in well with fellow Czechs Hanzal/Vrbata, and next year his actual salary is only 2.25 which obviously is important for PHX.

It's hilarious that Erat thinks he is a player of consequence in this league. Two trade requests in a year for a guy who has accomplished very little.
