I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were a Bronco fan as long as you guys win your game in KC next week. If that happens, you'll probably be the #1 seed and the AFC will still go through Denver. If KC wins, yeah then I'd be worried.

There isn't a better team at adjusting for the second half than New England. But I had no illusions that was going to happen this game. Crazy.

Now THAT is how you choke a game away. Can't just put that one on Manning, that was a total team effort today.

We have an interesting race to the bottom shaping up. For me, I think our 3 best candidates are Houston, Jacksonville, and Minnesota. Their schedules shape up as follows:
MIN - CHI, @BAL, PHI, @CIN, DET
HOU - NE, @JAX, @IND, DEN, @TEN
JAX - @CLE, HOU, BUF, TEN, @IND
Jacksonville clearly has the easiest schedule and should be able to steal two wins out of that span. So that leaves us with Minnesota and Houston. I can't see Minnesota winning a game for the rest of the year, unless they somehow steal one at home against Chicago. Houston looks pretty dicey, too. I have it looking like this at the end of the year.
1. HOU 2-14
2. MIN 2-13-1
3. JAX 3-13 or 4-12
The good news for Vikings fans is they're all but guaranteed either Bridgewater or Mariota. That being said, how insane would it be if Houston and Jacksonville picked 1 & 2 and we ended up with a division of Luck, Mariota, and Bridgewater for the next 10 years? Hell, even Luck, Mariota/Bridgwater, and Manziel would be pretty entertaining.

The Sunday night game was full of mistakes. Not a great exhibit for that argument.

Good point. The CFL is well-renowned for being mistake-free.

Houston/Minny desperately need a QB. Houston is a mess right now. I could see Schaub/Andre Johnson asking to be dealt. Minny has an amazing RB and a couple of decent receivers but Ponder/Cassel etc are not starter quality.
Which one of those 2 prospects is supposed to go 1? Mariota?

Speaking of both games, one interesting similarity between the two-
The Pats decided to kick instead of receive when they won the coin toss in OT. Is this the first time this has happened? I doubt it ever happened under the old OT rules (first score wins), but quite possible it has happened already under the new rules. Anyone know?
In the grey cup, the Riders won the coin toss, deferred their decision to the 2nd half, but chose to kick at the start of the 2nd half anyway.
Both decisions were made so to be playing with the wind. Pretty similar conditions in both games actually.

I don't believe it has to answer your question regarding New England. It worked out for them but I'd always want the ball first. Moreno had a huge night and could have just as easily gone for a TD and then you don't even give Brady a chance with the ball.

As Kel alluded to Marty Mornhinweg a bunch of posts, looked it up..so it at least has happened once:
His most notable moment as a head coach came during a 2002 game against the Chicago Bears. The game went into overtime, and the Lions won the ensuing coin toss. However, Mornhinweg felt that having the wind in his favor was more important than getting the ball, despite having Jason Hanson (who hit a then-NCAA record 62-yard field goal in his college days at Washington State University) as his kicker. He elected to kick, rather than receive. As it turned out, the Lions never got the ball; on the Bears' opening drive, Chicago scored a field goal to win the game

Had Moreno, Welker and Decker starting in one of my two leagues, thankfully Moreno had a great game, haha.

I saw on Twitter today, that Mariota could be very likely to stay at Oregon.

I've never understood posts like this.
Obviously the NFL is the bigger league and has way more talent. I am a big fan of the NFL and the CFL. I just don't see why NFL fans seem to take random shots at a smaller league. Its not like the CFL is trying to become bigger/better then the NFL.

Its not really a debate, just the curiosity of why strictly NFL fans feel the need to trash a smaller league that is really not competing for any of its fans/business.

I wasn't taking a shot at the league. Good on those who enjoy it. This is the NFL thread, just didn't see a reason why CFL had to be brought into it.

It makes sense to take the wind now. Marvin Lewis should have taken the wind against Baltimore.
The team with the ball first must drive 80 yards to win. 50 yards just to attempt a FG. If they fail, they have to punt into the wind and you only need a FG with the wind to win.

Browna and the rest of the Seahawks fans......a cool story about Lynch. He was a Cal Bear in school and still supports the area a lot. He had a turkey drive for Thanksgiving and donated 400 meals for families in need for American Thanksgiving. There are huge lines on a first come first serve basis here in the Bay Area. Classy move by Marshawn.
