I think if my team was 2-8 and going nowhere I might not feel all that excited about putting my health on the line and taking on a 250 lbs. LB either.
But that may be one of the 100 reasons I am not playing in the NFL.

Well, considering how fast he was going and how much room was there, if he took a step to the right after the last pump fake instead of the left, chances are he gets the 6 more yards to the endzone without being touched.
Instead, 4th down and a FG.
Part of the reason they're 2-8. And the fact that he chews up $20m of cap space doesn't help in getting those extra players for a supporting cast.

I wont claim to know why or how the Falcons fell apart the way they have, but I really dont think Matt Ryan's scrambling ability has any bearing on their 2-8 record.

Got a bit tense, as expected in a rivalry game, but big win. Saints now 13-3 against Atlanta since '06, 12-2 under Payton. Who's your daa-ddy?

You're really going to take that literally?
Overall commitment and desire to want to win and not take the easy way out. Now that he's gotten paid, some of those instincts and desires have taken a backseat. Happens to a lot of guys.
The worst thing for the Falcons last year was Seattle letting them off the hook in the last minute of the divisional game. The way Seattle was rolling they may well have been a favourite in Sf the next week. Instead, Atlanta gets Sf at home and gets to the same point they got at the end of the game, but this time didn't execute. Then Sf missing out on a SB win by one play, Atlanta and their (more money then knows what to do with) owner figures they're one play away themselves from a SB win, so focuses on offense only and extends the QB and makes him second highest paid player. Brings in a guy like Jackson who did less then nothing with this type of offense, convince Gonzalez to come back, and forget mostly about improving th defense with thier now limited cap space.
Put it this way, if they had lost in the divisional round as they probably should've last year, they would've thought twice about the Ryan contract extension that quickly, and looked deeper at as to why they went one and done in the playoffs.

Seeing as how you broke the play down quite literally, yes I did take it that way.. It was honestly the way you portrayed it, very far off from the metaphorical point you were trying to make
The Matt Ryan contract is certainly ugly, not as ugly IMO as Flacco's or Shaub's, but probably among the top 5 worst of them so far. However, I cant really blame the owner for bringing in a better running back and convincing their hall of fame TE to come back when they were in the Conference championship game. This was a 13-3 team last year and that is a pretty healthy body of work, I would expect anyone to continue to improve their team.
Whether you think the Seahawk's "let them off the hook" or not doesnt matter, they were in fact one game away from a Superbowl and you make it sound like they should have tore it down.
Matt Ryan was the MVP of probably the 2nd best offense in the league behind Green Bay last year, and his stats were almost spot on with Tom Brady's.
Point is, the contract is ugly but Matt Ryan and his contract are not the problem in Atlanta right now

I was down there to watch the Chiefs a few years ago. They had the outfield concourse of the Baseball stadium open. Concessions and beer on the center field terrace. I loved it. Got to hang out in an MLB Stadium and attend an NFL game.

The early games today are huge for the last Wildcard spot in the AFC.
Steelers @ Browns are both 4-6, Chargers 4-6 are playing in KC. Jets 5-5 who currently hold the last spot are playing the 4-6 Ravens. Finally the 5-5 Dolphins are at home to Carolina.

Fairley just got a penalty where he clearly hit Glennon above the knees.
Time to fix the QB rules or just make them untouchable/two hand touch to make them down.

Brutal start for KC so far. Smith sacked 3 times in 7 plays and 0 yards of legitimate offence. San Diego moving the ball at will.

Bears have settled it down and back within 7. The offense still clicking, that defense needs to tighten up though

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Walter Thurmond is facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy and program for non-PED substances, a league source confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Vikings are actually outplaying the Packers pretty badly....just some good bounces for GB has them ahead.
they HAVE to win this game if they want any chance of making the post season.
