They played this on the energy board last night. Whole place was chuckling when Mcgratton easily rattled off Nieuwendyk.

I'll never be able to spell Nieuwendyk properly, I need to look it up 100% of the time when I type out his name. Not even a hard name to spell, just know I'll place the wrong letter somewhere otherwise.

How did they do on Colborne?
Also, knowing Monahan, he will be studying all past Flames rosters so he is not caught off guard for the next spelling bee.

I'd love to see a spelling bee with Daryl on it lol. I think the only thing he'll spell right every time is NTC.

I used Nieuwendyk as my password for my team on NHL 94 on the PC so I learned to spell it really quickly...

Consider your NHL 94 team hacked. You better have a good team...

I hate to be mean, but my goodness I'm glad Monahan is good at hockey because his interviews and anything that comes out of his mouth makes me lose brain cells.

Kristen Hallett loves to do these 'learn about the players off the ice' pieces..
They are pretty fun..
PS not sure if that's how you spell Kristen Hallett right but the guy who took a video of her probably knows

I love his interviews. You can see his brain cycling through the 'NHL Cliche Handbook' for the right one for the question. It's fun to see how many he can fit into one sentence. 'Try to be a good pro' gets used a lot as a generic answer.

Well, it was the Flames of the era and I played with no line changes so I had Nieuwendyk centering Fleury and Roberts with MacInnis and Suter on defense and Vernon in goal. Yeah, awesome team to play with

NHL 94 taught me to Nieuwendyk too. Don't even have to think about it.
