Was confused that B. Jones was the third shooter and not you know, Monahan.

Oh well, we win!

Sven, Colborne, Backlund, Jones and Monahan were fun to watch tonight

Things I was reminded of:
1. Hartley is a horrible coach.
2. Butler is a serviceable 3rd pairing defenceman. As soon as he has to do a single thing beyond that, he completely goes to crap and gets discombobulated.
3. The young guys on this team are better than Hartley thinks they are.
4. Berra is usually good for one or two softies every game.

Baertschi is much more effective when he shoots the puck. I thought he was the Flames best forward tonight.

Berra continues to frustrate. He looks like a Vezina candidate sometimes and a guy who would have trouble cracking most AHL lineups other times.

Really liking Colbourne. Not sure if he'll ever stick as a top six centre, but I could see him having a similar career to Joel Otto.

Monahan needs to go in the top three in the shootout. The guy is money.

Flames really need to tighten up in their own end. They managed to take five of six points against weak teams despite their sloppy defensive play, but if they play like that against the Hawks or the Ducks we could see some very lopsided losses.

That Monahan kid is all right! He looks like he is 12, but he sure can play hockey.

Wait, I thought there was a massive organizational conspiracy against Blair Jones and Hartley was picking on him? He put him in the shoot out as the third shooter and played him on a line with Hudler and Monahan? Weird.

Hopefully some of their ice time gets given to the youngsters. Cammalleri shat the bed there on the clearing attempt.

Wideman was -3 also. Butler is like the plague going up and down the pairings... hehe

5 points in 3 three games. Even with another lead lost for no good reason really, that should start helping with the confidence and the general mood.

Missed about the first half of the game, but from what little I saw of Blair Jones I liked. Brings the right kind of aggressiviness and looked really big out there.

Colborne with a great game, very close to scoring in the SO too. I hope they keep Bouma - Colborne - Jones together for a while, looks like that line could be a keeper. They didn't look that great in their own zone, but they caused some real chaos in the other end and I'm sure the opposing lines were not thrilled to play them. Some hard physical play there.

Wideman with a terrible night, sheesh. Butler-Wideman seems like a really bad pairing. On the other hand, for some reason we've been getting points with that being one of the pairings, so maybe there's some dark coaching magic going on that I'm just not seeing.

I wonder if the vets had been out drinking together or something, they all were just all really bad. (Or maybe it's just that the young guys can play after a night of drinking? )

Berra was clearly a bundle of nerves again in the 3rd period. I'm not sure if it's the team making him nervous, the other way around, or if it's a feedback loop thing, but in any case let's hope he doesn't take too long to get it under control.

Russell with another good game. Really liking that guy.

After a few games, yeah, Smid looks like a good pickup. Brings physicality, decent allround game, very consistent effort. We're a bit short on those guys.

Baertchi and Monahan looked dangerous, but also a bit fancy. That said, they seem to be moving forward again after a bit of a lull.

PLus for me tonight. Berra has Flaws but still manages to help the team get to a shoot out.

Monahan, Colborne and Sven all doing their thing to help win as well!

There's hope in watching these kids struggle and learn.

Have I mentioned Lately that Russell is the Flames best D man? He is.

Good on Blair Jones to ride the high of being called up. That was the finish he was missing last year and the year before. Confidence does wonders.

At least Cammy made up for it in the shootout. Stajan and Stempniak just had terrible nights. No idea why they got a single shift in OT.
