Default Dallas reluctantly welcomes Kesler

A deal that has been in the works for a week or so wrapped up today.

To Dallas

Ryan Kesler
Cap

To Van
Stephen Weiss
Rasumus Ristolainen
Make Stone
Carter Ashton
Chris Bourque

Despite being a total loser, I wanted Kesler for my 2nd line center spot. He is one be best rated 2-way centerman and someone who should bring some balance to the lineup. Gave up a mix of quality and quantity but got a significant sim bump.

Thanks for the fun deal Mitch!

I'd add that Ristolainen is a stud. Van gets a really really nice long-term asset in this kid.

From Vancouvers perspective we add two prospects who we really like in Mark Stone and Ristolainen. At the age of 18, as a defenseman, Risto has proven he can play at the NHL level to some degree which is very impressive at such a young age. He can only get better. Stone is a guy who has taken a little longer to develop, but has great hockey sense. In his short stint with the Sens in the playoffs 1 or 2 seasons back he had some good chemistry with Spezza, so if the next time he's with the big club, he will be set up for success. Getting a downgrade to Weiss is nice since he still has a respectable rating that some teams may be interested in, and we could possibly flip him for some more assets.

Thanks to the Stars for the talks.

Anyone else still waiting for Dallas to get a starting goalie?

I thought I needed one but Bernier has been a stud so far...we'll see.
