I'd imagine a $549.99 price tag, which discounts the Vita from $199.99 to $149.99 - I don't see a world where Sony discounts the Vita a full $100.

Well, they haven't released the new v.2 Vita in North America yet. Maybe that's what they're aiming for this holiday. But you're probably right with the 550ish price point.

$550 or $575 makes more sense as they'll throw in a game or something instead. Man, seeing the WiiU for $250 for a WW bundle or the Mario bundle... Can't help but to wonder if I shouldn't just get both a WiiU and a PS4. Already have a 3DS...goddammit. Why can't they just make a super home/portable console bundle that just plays everything?!

That or me having silly amounts of disposable income.

It looks like the PS4 Vita bundle just has the PS4, Vita + 4gb card, and one controller... after thinking about it... $550 makes the most sense. I'll be reserving one asap.

EDIT:

Somebody on Neogaf did a count:

i counted 76 voice commands of which 37 worked and the remaining 39 commands either registered incorrectly or failed to register at all.

this is a failure rate of 51.3%.
Well it will depend on noise levels to be sure. Other reviews I've seen have reported about a 90% success rate and even if needing to repeat a couple of times it still being quicker than using the controller. Bugs to be sure but when worked out it seems like it can be very powerful.

Damn you people! I never did end up buying a 3DS but considering those Wii:U bundles are essentially the same price as a 3DS I might have to go buy one.

BTW, you shouldn't go with the "normal" 3DS. Gotta go 3DS XL or bust!

Like say, this one:

Please, of course I was only considering the XL But considering that is $200 plus the cost of the game, I could get one of those Wii:U bundles. Super Mario 3D World looks amazing.

As somebody who isn't picking up a system until fall 2014, I'm quite interested to find out what a ps4/Vita combo will cost next year. Early reviews on remote play seem surprisingly strong.

My kids are getting a 2DS for Christmas. Supposed to be a bit more durable (no hinge) so better for our young kids. If one of them doesn't start behaving soon I'll be getting a 2DS....

Both Future Shop and Best Buy websites say they have online stock but I can't get through to the checkout page - complete freeze up.

Yeah, some people are reporting that they can get their order through but could be hit or miss. Seems like stock is available to be had.
