You don't know the definition of whine, I don't eat cornflakes, I'm not that old...but not young hehe...but I do shave and everything...and by the way I am actually hilarious, though very sarcastic.
I will give you that I have been too bitter lately mostly at the HF attitude creeping into my favourite message board....lots of folks manufacturing some higher than possible expectations then wasting 20 posts pleading their case....over and over and over.
I mean....you knew this team was going to be bad this year didn't you? Tell me, "CP's little ray of sunshine who never, ever sounds bitter"...how many coaches do you think we should cycle through during this rebuild? Take a close, close look at the roster top to bottom and how good do you really expect them to be? How much more do you think can be squeezed out of them?
Team is exceeding expectations even with the losing streaks, injuries, rookie goalies and up and down play...and you think they should gun the coach?
Anyways, not going round and round with you....

I may not agree with several points JobHopper had to make, but he's right about one thing, y'all are getting your nickers in a twist over it pretty easy. A troll is only allowed to troll if you take the bait.. so why, damn it.. He thinks his points are factual. But so what, many here talk as if everything they spout out is fact.
I'll agree that Brossoit could possess significant value if he develops the tools that he has, but he hasn't yet. At this point in time, neither him nor Horak hold much value in a trade, and the fact that you're trading two unproven, non-NHL players and getting a regular NHL blue liner that led his team in hits and blocked shots, I'd say you're getting about the best return you can back for those two.
As for Jay.. part of a rebuild is patience. You can't be making knee jerk reaction moves after every frustrating game (and even when you want to, often the market just isn't there). I'm happy they've been generally hands-off and allowing this group to try and work through their struggles. Of course Jay wants to improve the team, Burke is here for that reason. But this is a rebuild. You're focused on developing upcoming talent within the organization more than patching the ship with rejects from other teams, waiver wire wash ups and post-apex players that'll just eat up a younger player's minutes.. and in an attempt to what, buy another couple of wins in a season where you've got zero chance at the playoffs anyways? Nah. The patient approach is the right way to go. And if a deal like that with the Oilers comes along where you can pick up a young player with notable value by utilizing your ample cap space while taking advantage of a team without any, then that's the intelligent way to approach those transactions. Don't deal for the sake of dealing (and fixing for 'right now') we need to move past that way of thinking. We're no longer a re-tooling club. Long term has to be the train of thought, here. Can't forget that. And that'll mean taking a lot of punches in the gut along the way (and standing pat through it) cause that's what it'll take for a young club to settle in and figure it out.

Berra getting some soccer love:

Quote:
Sure, Camilo, your MLS Goal of the Year-nominated bicycle kick was impressive and cool and probably really difficult and stuff.
But you didn't do it while wearing highly constrictive, full-body armor, did you? And a soccer ball is much larger than three inches in diameter and flat, thus easier to connect with, isn't it?
Also, remind me — were you standing on ice when you decided to throw your body wildly, corkscrew in the air and whip your leg around? No, I didn't think so either.
So you'll probably have to be happy to settle for Goal of the Year in Major League Soccer, because the Calgary Flames (NHL) goaltender Reto Berra claimed the unofficial Bicycle Kick of the Year award on Wednesday night with a stunning overhead kick save (video above).

What did I miss? Was it revealed he had a "violent injury" last night?

Just some people were making excuses for his lack of effort, on the backcheck, on the GWG. Some were saying he was injured on the play.

I refer to my sports team as "we", although I do not play.
I might remark that "we" won WWII, although I am to young to have fought.
Hell I have even been known to say "We" put a man on the moon, although I am just one small part of the human race.
Why is the concept of identifying with a group so difficult for us?

Bottom 5 in the league and trending down, worst GA/G in the league I would say the Flames are pretty much meeting expectations this year.
And not sure why rookie goaltending gets used as an excuse it was expected and expected to be bad.

I agree that now they are, still why gun the coach at this point? What will that solve exactly...let Hartley drill them with tough love for a while.
and I wasn't making excuses.....not even close actually.

I agree and have said I think you keep Hartley for at least this year to take the losses and get in a real coach once the team has enough talent and looks ready to turn the corner.
Okay, with the injuries and losing streaks I thought that was the way you were going with that sentence.

No offense, what a weak reaction/response from the fans at the game for Berra's remarkable save. I wouldn't have lost my *&#@!

It was remarkable in its athleticism, but terrible in how you stop a side to side shot. He had enough time to get across, fall on his back and then kick up his legs. Why not just show across and use your body/blocker. That move isn't going to work very often
