I pre-ordered mine at EB Games Northhill about a month ago. I called them today to ask what time I should get there tonight for the midnight launch. They told me I would not be able to get it until the second shipment. That's the reason why I never pre-order anything.
EB seems to do things a little differently when it comes to this. Whereas the other big retailers like Bestbuy, Futureshop, Amazon, etc. seemed to simply stop taking pre-orders at a certain point, EB will always accept a pre-order, but simply not guarantee for a certain date (I could be wrong on this). If they said you'd have one on launch, I suppose that's a different story.
I pre-ordered the One at EB in the beginning of October and got the call today that I'd have it tonight. It also sounds like they received a few extra Day One editions, so I was upgraded to one of those.
I also pre-ordered a PS4 only a couple of weeks ago and am supposedly in the queue for the next shipment (they told me this would be the case when I pre-ordered). Pre-orders that were made after September/October started to get into second shipment territory, it seems.
Really? That's actually kinda cool - especially as USPS is specifically taking that away with the losses they are eating.
Yeah they do it in major cities starting November 24th to help alleviate the Christmas rush, not sure if Calgary is included in that though.
Edit: Just confirmed with a Canada Post employee that weekend delivery will also be taking place in Calgary this weekend. So hope that you may get it for the weekend at least Robaur.

Really 15 minutes of negatives in a 12 hour stream isn't that bad.....but holy crap did that video kill the excitement that I had for XBox One.
Need to go watch some positive stream videos now.
No, no - don't take that as bad on Xbone. It's more complaints about the horrible, horrible 12 hour stream that Polygon did. Neogaf has been mocking it for a while now - it was a total disaster, they got information wrong, terrible people onstream, etc. Just a train wreck.

That's news to me, my dad delivers mail and he isn't working on the weekend. Mail carriers now deliver the packages for their own walk, it isn't done by a dedicated parcel delivery person like before. They also changed some mail carriers hours and they start delivering mail later, which is why some people get their mail and packages later than they used to.
Well that launch party was very strange. Celebrities, not too many games and a weird ass McDonalds thing that is spreading across the internet? So weird for a console launch stream.
I was 20th in line at Future Shop Beacon Hill and was told I wouldn't be getting one. They had like 15 to sell tonight. At least they didn't keep us waiting/hoping too long. Damn.
