Jackman is a big dude and could probably kick the crap out of anyone on this site in a street fight. On the hockey rink though he got caught a few times in scraps 2 or so years ago. I think it might be a balance thing with him. He got a bit gunshy of the enforcer role and is trying to change his game to a 4th line physical presence role. I think he might be able to do it, but in Calgary he was always going to be expected to be an enforcer - a role he was no longer comfortable doing.

He was a top 5 UFA signing when Sutter first got him for the Isles. but the year he got extended it was mind bottling. He was totally struggling. Huge minus player and then Feaster signs him during the season....
I'm pretty sure it's due to injuries though. Didn't he hurt his knee pretty bad? Still Feaster never should have signed that extension with him.

Shoulda coulda woulda didn't. At least we got a positive asset which is more than we got for Hagman. Thought Jackman was waiver bait but Feaster makes a good deal here.

So the Flames are at 45 contracts? With all this cap and contract space I hope the Flames are able to pull off a fleece of a team or teams when we move players with value.
I am sure they want space for Gaudreau, Agostino, Arnold for the Heat playoff run as well

I'd be surprised if he doesn't do something with it. He has 20 pts in 16 games with Abby (6th in the league) and this is likely to be his last chance to become an NHL'er. He might not accomplish anything while he's up, but I doubt it will be from like of effort.

Happy with this. Get to call up a young guy, and makes it less likely for Bouma or Sven to get benched which is a great thing. Also frees up a contract. Some I am happy on this alone. Oh yeah, and we get a 6th.. which is awesome!!!. Best of luck Jackie Chan!

The best part of losing a contract means that they can go after NCAA UFA's at the end of the year. Shayne Taker or Sam Warning come on down.

Not much else to say what hasn't already been said. Jackman is a gritty and tough player, but it doesn't make sense to have him playing for us right now. Not that we don't need toughness, but we need it more on the top lines.
