Getting anything for Jackman is a win and considering we did not have to take a contract back is great.
Great for Jackman he gets to bail on Alberta winter for SoCal and play on a playoff bound team. Truly a win-win for the organization and the player

I think makes the most sense to call up Jones. He's a guy you can probably sit in the press box for awhile and not worry about stunting his development. Plus gives the real prospects in Abbotsford to get more ice.
I think Jones would push Backlund too.

I don't mind Jackman at all but if he is just taking some of the young guys' spot on the roster and play less than 6 minutes, I am glad he is traded. Too bad he didn't get traded in the East. Good luck to him though. I am not sure they will call up one of the young guys like Reinhart, Knight or any good prospect as they would rather see them playing more. It might be someone who they can sit out as a healthy scratch most of the time.

And the board will hate Jones if he ever dresses in place of Sven.
As for the deal... its not for much, but clears a spot and gives a vet a chance to win something. I like it.

This just shows Feaster and Burke aren't serious about the rebuild. They are in win now mode.
Good luck in Anaheim Tim. I wish you well on your travels, but I'm happy you aren't on the Flames anymore. I like the freed up contract and maybe it will get a guy Knight up at the big club for a while.

Jones leads the Heat with 20 points (8G/12A) in 16 games. He has done what was asked of him, nice to see him back in the bigs. He'll be able to push Backlund and Colborne now.
