I'm with the "don't get a jersey if the player never wore it" crowd. I've seen #9 McDonald jersey's on the 2004 ones and it just looked ridiculous. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames wear the retro jersey's on retro night, so good chance Monahan wears it there. Until they do that, however, I think a retro Monahan looks odd. As for the nickname, I don't like Monorail or Money Hands. Both seem corny. I'm going to stick with Monahan for now.
You do know that even if they finish last (they won't) there's only a 25% chance of drafting 1st overall, right? Meaning, it's unlikely they will get Ekblad, and even less likely they get McDavid.
The chances of getting either are the same, if you finish in the same position. The chances of getting both are quite a bit lower.
Ekblad may not go 1st though. Unless something changes before 2015, McDavid will.

I wasn't comparing them, I just said that the odds of drafting Ekblad are low and the odds of drafting McDavid are even lower.
It's not my favourite jersey design by any stretch, but I ordered one of the 3rd jerseys with Monahan with the STH discount. It arrived Monday. They've lost both games they've worn it, but Sean has scored in each of them. I do prefer the retro 3rds, but the current design has really grown on me. The white numbers look sharp.

I hated them in the NHL 14 screenshots, but I have to admit, they have grown on me a lot. These really aren't that bad.
For those who don't get the "Monorail" reference it has to do with an episode of the Simpsons where the entire town was sold on a new Monorail system, they were dancing and singing "Monorail!!!" and everyone was esctatic. When Sean played his first few games, and started scoring goals, everyone was touting him as the savior of the franchise and celebrating his successes which was then compared to the Simpsons episode. There are even a few gif's floating around. I have also been calling him Monorail.

That was why I didn't get it, the monorail was a piece of junk in the end that almost destroyed the town.
I think monorail nickname should be put to bed!
Moneyhands is way better, I'm sure there is something better out there however.
