I was wondering about that too. 1200 calories is way too low. Depending on your height weight and amount of activity a week.
For me because of my size serious weight loss is at a little under 2000 calories a day, which is what I try to achieve.
For example using my calorie calculator if you are 20 5 foot 5 and 180 pounds and want to lose weight you should be taking in at least 1500 calories a day. That's also based on working out 4 x week.
All your doing is putting your body in starvation mode, slowing down your metabolism and converting everything to fat storage.
you might want to think about bulking up your intake by about 600 calories and pretty much constantly eating.
It also comes down to what your eating more then anything else. That's where I made my biggest change.
I mean my weightloss was huge at the start, I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks which is about 5 pounds per week. Now I'm losing about a pound to 2 pounds a week, everthing says that's healthy.
In other words in in the words of DDP, your not doing it right.

I dramatically changed my diet and stopped working out and lost 10 lbs last week! I tried out some fad diet called (unofficially) "a stomach virus". This fad diet was forced upon me, I had no choice in the matter so I reluctantly participated in it for 6 days. Finally decided to return to my normal routine but it has been 3 days of recovering from this miracle weight loss diet to get me back to normal. Yesterday afternoon is the first day that I felt normal again.
People, DON'T DO THE STOMACH VIRUS FAD DIET!!!! It is a scam. You'll lose too much weight in a small amount of time and take forever to get back to normal, and then immediately starting gaining everything back anyway. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!
Can't wait to start doing DDP Yoga again tonight. I'm a bit nervous that I've lost all my momentum in terms of motivation to do this regularly. I'm working myself up by telling myself that once I get started it will be like a bike and then I can't get enough again. The temptation is still there to do not a darn thing though.

I totally mailed it in. I sat on the computer eating licorice and playing a game, while my wife worked out in the next room. I needed the extra time to work myself up, I simply was not mentally prepared to even think about attempting to workout. Tonight I'm feeling like I'll own it.
That's all you can do. My schedule is brutal for the next 4 days, I doubt I'll have time to do anything. Which I hate. But it is our workout, there is no one monitoring you. Just make sure to make an honest effort to get back to it.

Daily dozen and breathing to start. Make sure you own that. then start with energy. There's a very good progression calender in the booklet that they sent you.
The first week is usually three energies I think and three daily dozens.
See how you do with energy. But try to really own that one because it forms a good base.
Fatburner is a lot harder but like energy it gives you good form and fundamentals. Core is an add on that you can do after energy or fatburner because its quick (12 minutes). But owning these workouts and having proper form and technique in terms of locking things in and using resstance means that when you go into the Diamond work out (about 45 minutes) you don't flounder.
Just my two cents though

I've got my package now, for a couple weeks and have not began.
no mat yet, which routine would be best to jump into today?
Have you reviewed the Diamond Dozen? Learn the Diamond Dozen. It will make it easier to keep up with the "real" workouts once you've done the Diamond Dozen and learned each move. You'll be able to get the most out of your workouts by learning each move in the Diamond Dozen and learning how to own each move.
If you've done that I would start with Energy. At first I planned to follow the beginner's schedule. I found that I could easily workout more than 3 days per week, so I very loosely followed the beginner schedule and only to determine which week I would try a new workout.
Now I schedule my week by writing down which workout I want to do each day. I also have a list of the workouts that I want to do and I write down the date that I last did it. So when I'm scheduling my week I don't forget to add in a particular workout. I don't want to go 3 or 4 or 5 weeks without doing a particular workout thinking that I only did it last week. Up until getting sick I was scheduling 6 workout days, usually only doing 5. Now I'll be doing 4 workout days and hopefully hitting all 4, the other two days are the days I play hockey. I'm tempted to include a DDP Yoga workout after I'm done playing hockey though.

Just ordered my DVDs today - now that baseball season is over looking forward to a new workout program. I've done P90x in the past, but looking something to focus more on flexibity and low impact. I surf every morning and look to add these workouts to my after work schedule.

I'm thinking of ordering this too. I enjoy regular & hot yoga but it would be nice to do yoga at home. I've tried to just do the poses but I'm really undisciplined and never hold them for as long as I'm supposed to. My boyfriend (who is a goalie) has also expressed interest in yoga to increase his flexibility so he'll probably want to give this a shot too. I'm thinking because I'm already pretty used to yoga I'll get the full set of DVD's. Is the extreme more for strength training? I'm just wondering what some of the bigger differences are between this and straight up yoga.
Looking forward to starting though

The extreme workouts definately work on strength. But there are specific core and strength workouts as well as fat burning workouts.
In talking to some friends of mine who do Yoga and comparing. Besides the name changes in terms of positions. There's no proud warrior poses in this its called Superstar and butterfly.
The way that you lock into the poses is different because everything is based on dynamic resistance. For example on the lunges your backfoot is toes down to lock your calf muscle, as oppossed to the standard feet flat and sideways.
In the stand up poses your knees are slightly bent, your toes grab into the mat, your actively trying to pull your legs together. Your butt is clenched and your tailbone tucked. This quickly raises your heart rate. When you bring your arms straight out in front of you, you need to lock every muscle, your fingers, your biceps triceps etc.
Standard Yoga doesn't have pushups, especially three and five CT pushups that kick your butt.
Things like down dog and safety zone are pretty standard, but in down dog you use dynamic resistance to push your shoulders and chest towards your legs to strengthen your shoulders.
They also admited that the concept of doing crunches in a broken ladder position is a little weird.
Just some thoughts.

Did my first Diamond Cutter workout this morning. My body is still trembling an hour later. I love that workout. Those 10 count pushups were insane, and I had to do them from my knees.

A chick I work with says that DDP Yoga is just regular yoga but they renamed the poses. I don't want to argue with her so I just keep quiet.
but checkout this video made by a DDP Yoga user:
Yeah, its not even close to regular Yoga. Especially after getting one of my friends that does regular Yoga to try it.
She wasn't happy with the CT pushups. Or the crunching in table position.
She didn't like the engagement stuff all that much either and complained that her feet hurt in the lunge position because you don't have your back foot flat.
There are a lot of things that are common, but its not the same thing.

Been struggling to remain consistent lately. My diet has been off and I think it affects my energy levels. October has been, and always will be, an incredibly busy month for me, so some days I just decide to rest instead of working out. I'm still doing it about 3 days per week, plus one day of hockey per week, but considering I was working out 5 or 6 days per week before hockey started I'm feeling like I'm taking shortcuts.
I was at a conference last week and I worked out in my hotel room both nights I was away, and then I come home and completely wrote off working out for three nights in a row now. So I'm up and down with working out. I'm hoping that once this week is over that I can really own it for November and December.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I was consistant til I went to a week long conference in Texas. Not only did I not make time to work out, but I ate like garbage for the entire week. I'm not talking fast food. But tons of red meat, not a lot of veggies.
The good thing is that when I got back last week I worked out 6 out of 7 days last week. But I have to tell you, even with just a week away, the workouts really punished me for some reason.
Oh well, I'm moving on to the next sequence now, Energy gets retired, and I'm doing a combo of fat burner, core and Diamond cutter this week, I'm going to try to get 5 days in.
I'm still showing results, but naturally they've slowed down a bit.
Every time I do Red Hot Core I renew my crush on MILFy Diane.
