Player:
Daniel Sedin (CBJ) 16GP 10G 4A 14P +3
Sedin is one of the top goal scorers in the CPHL and considering we are one of the lowest scoring teams in the CPHL, his contribution has been huge.
Dman:
Paul Martin (CBJ) 16GP 3G 8A 11P +5
The Jackets are the best defensive team in the CPHL allowing the fewest goals against in the first month due in large part to the play of Paul Martin. He is also one of the top scoring D in the CPHL.
Unsung:
Paul Gaustad (CBJ) 16GP 6G 4A 10P +9
Gaustad plays on our 3rd line and first line PK. The numbers he has put up and his +/- are very impressive.
Goalie:
Ryan Miller (CBJ) 16GP 10W 5L 1OTL 0.943 Sv% 1.90 GAA
The TOP Sv% in the CPHL and 2nd best GAA. The Jackets have allowed the fewest goals against in the CPHL so far, thanks to Miller.

Nashville has a few players to nominate after a better first 30 than might have been expected.
Marian Hossa, Player of the Month: Has been the teams leading scorer since his arrival in Nashville and has 24 points (11g, 13a) in 16 games. With Nashville he has scored 22 of these points including all 11 goals. His contribution is more than that though; he leads the team in penalty minutes and has also sparked Michael Ryder into an offensive for for the Predators as well. He is the top point getter for RWs and leads the league in both hat tricks and PP goals.
Vernon Fiddler, Unsung Player of the Month: Fiddler is rated 64ov, and has been excellent for the Predators. He has 8 goals and 6 assists for 14 points through 16 games, and was named "unsung" POW once in the first month. He posted a gawdy 27.59% shooting percentage (if only he would shoot more!) and plays in every situation.
For rookie of the month the Predators would like to nominate Thomas Hickey. Hickey played in all 16 games for the Predators and picked up 5 assists in that time. He has also blocked 18 shots thus far playing about 18 minutes a night.
Lastly, Jonas Hiller has held everything together for Nashville. He has gone 8-2-2 for the Preds this season and posted a 0.932 save percentage.

Player:
JAKUB VORACEK, 17 GP-5G-16A-21P: Top producing forward so far for the Blues and has helped propel the likes of Steve Ott and Nathan Horton this far, all while playing on the 2nd line, averaging roughly 2.5 minutes less per game than most other statistical league leaders.
Defenseman:
RYAN SUTER, 16GP - 2G - 10A - 12P: Suter leads the league in AVG TOI/GM with over 27 minutes and has still posted a +12 rating. Suter has easily been the best all around skater for the Blues and has turned Alex Goligoski into a worthy #2 Dman in his wake.
Goalie:
SERGEI BOBROVSKY, 12GP - 9W -2L - 1 OTL - 1SO: Leads the league in GAA with 1.88 and a top 5 SV% of .936. With wins in 75% of his games and points in 83% he leads the league and is only 2 wins short of being tied for the lead league as well, all this has been done in 4 less games than any of the other statistical leaders for goaltenders

D-man- Duncan Keith has 1 goal, 10 assists for 11 points and is +4. He has been a third star twice.

After the first 30 days the Blackhawks find themselves tied atop the Central Division with a 11-4-1 record. The big guns have led the team as Giroux, Boyle, and Luongo have dragged an otherwise below average team to a winning record.
Player: Claude Giroux 16 GP 9G (7th in CPHL)+14A (tied for 8th in CPHL)=23PTS (tied for 5th in CPHL), 9 power play points, 2 Game winning goals, 1st Star X2, 2nd Star X1, 3rd Star X 2. A Star in 31% of Chicago's games!
Defenseman: Dan Boyle 15 GP 5G+13A=18PTS (2nd in CPHL scoring for dmen), +8 (team leading), 1 Game winning Goal, 21 take aways (team leading, 2nd in CPHL), 1st Star X2.
Unsung: Mikael Samuelsson (66OV) 16 GP 5G+4A=9PTS, +5, 1 Hat Trick, 2 Game winning goals, 1st Star X2.
Goalie: Roberto Luongo - 16GP 11 wins (tied for CPHL lead), 0.918 save %, 2.36 Goals Against Average, 1 Shutout, 5th in CPHL in minutes played, 1st Star X2, 2nd Star X2, 3rd Star X1 (A star in 31% of Chicago's Games!)

Player - Ryan O'Reilly - 10g, 15a, 25p, +6 in 16 games. Tied for 3rd in the league in scoring yet he's rated 9 to 11 OV less than the two players above him. Is currently riding a 12 game point streak with 9 total 3-star nominations (3 of each).
Defenseman - No one of note
Rookie - Gormley - 3 A +3 in 7 games
Unsung - Kennedy - 3g, 2a, 5p, +3 in 16 games
Goalie - Ward - .942 and a 1.92 in 13 games. 9-4 over that stretch with one shutout.

Carolina Hurricanes
Player
John "The Franchise" Tavares
John leads the league in both Points (3-23-26) and Assist (23) and is also 3rd in the league in face off percentage with 60.07%. He does this centering a line with wingers Jiri Tlusty and Brian McGrattan. It's not like John is going out there and dominating the game and raking up goals and padding his stats... he's out there setting up his teammates and making them better hockey players with his league leading 23 assist. For this reason alone John has been the key player in the organization and given the fact that his 26 points has him tied for the league top point getter .... there's no question that JT has been the MVP of the league so far
No other nominations, JT has been the only man worthy of nominations.... guys like Varlamov just don't compare to their peers mentioned above

^^^ Heh, I actually thought of that right after I logged off.
Though it is 67 for other skaters now.
As for my nominations between my early absence and the troubles after, Montreal had a pretty poor showing this month. I'll through a name up for unsung though.
Tim Connolly - Unsung (63) Being used only as a call up with very limited minutes Tim was stall able to score 2g and 2a for 4p in 9gp. He was also steady defensively posting a +5

Unsung - Dustin Penner (67 OV)
5 goals, 4 assists, +6, 3 3rd stars, 33 hits.
Not playing on a good team, so that +6 alone is quite impressive. He has been a solid contribution offensively, he has been physical and given a decent effort defensively. While injuries occurred he was a very competent replacement.
Goalie - Mike Smith
7 wins, 3 losses, 2 OT losses, .932 save %, 2.24 GAA, 4 first stars, 1 third star
When your defense has only 1 proven top-4 defender, it is going to be a tough ride as a goaltender. Smith was our best player hands down the past month and gave the team a chance to win. 4 first stars is evidence to that.
No other worthy nominations

Gaustad plays on our 3rd line and first line PK. The numbers he has put up and his +/- are very impressive.

DOH, looks like with Gaustad's awesome play he went from 65OV to 66OV making him inelagable for the unsung!
Gaustad has made the jump from unsung to superstar! We can omit Gaustad from the nominations. Appologies.
