In fact Backlund had more ice-time in his first 10 games than Stajan has had in his 10 games coming back from injury. So the whole point is moot.
It doesn't seem like it would take a crystal ball to play that what-if game here. If someone wants to know Backlund's point production with 20 minutes of ice-time including PP time with good linemates, check the game log of the first half of the season.

Honestly, CP needs to hire a recorder/statistician/historian. I'd like to see the
Corsi Advanced Stats of all the Backlund apologistsand their posts on 100s of threads related to how he has been hard done by and if we only played him with this guy or in that situation, he'd be a top player in this league....
As mentioned, he had all the minutes in the world until Stajan returned, do you think there is some love affair with Stajan from Management (LoL)? They'd have been happy to let Backlund remain on the first line - if warranted, it simply wasn't and now he can't retain a spot on the top 3 lines.
The 2 seasons prior they did give him time with Jarome and Tangs and it was abysmal, the minute he left the line, they would heat up. He's entirely responsible for adopting linemates, Big Ern and Jacks.
