Then bench him again. If he can't handle the pressure then go back to the juniors.

Lack of intensity in the first period turns into total defensive cluelessness in the second. Lack of focus?

At least Sven is creating opportunities, unlike the rest of the team.
This is what benchings do for a lot of players. Some players are motivated by the fear of benching. Some players play even more afraid of being benched.
Well done Hartley.

His IQ is fine. They've got him scared. And before people jump in with the "blah blah need to be mentally tough blah blah" not every player is the same.

He just needs to keep it simple when he enters the zone and shoot. That's it, Hartley should tell him not to pass.

Stars @ Flames
To be fair, that last mistake from Baertschi was from bad ice at end of the period, puck bounced at the worst time. He's been way too timid tonight though.

He's a big boy and supposedly an NHL player...you are either good enough to think the game at this level or your not. Might be time for a few games in the AHL

Agree with this but he can shoot the puck. No reason for him to neglect taking shots.

I'm sure it's been complained about, but new to the thread just now. Holy SN. Fix the audio/video sync. This is brutal.

The only thing he's doing wrong right now is when he gets a puck in good ice he's not being decisive enough. Benching or demoting him isn't going to help that I don't think. Just need some patience.

The AHL would be a much better place to get his game together. I don't get why that would such a big deal. I bet he'd learn a lot more in the minors right now.

I want to see these lines for the 3rd period:
Cammalleri Backlund Hudler
Baertschi (SHOOOOT! Monahan Stempniak
Colborne Stajan Jones
Goon1 Galiardi Goon2 (for maximum 30 seconds of ice time)
Time to start rewarding good play, Bob. Backlund says 'Hi'.

Better to send him down this season and get him back on track than go through the same next season.

I think you may be a little biased...if Sven can't take it go back to the AHL and try again next season

In an ideal world, all players are like this.
Unfortunately this is not an ideal world and all players react differently.

Why oh why do we follow up every goal for or against with our 4th line?
What's the point?
