Thanks for the digestion info. There really isn't much interstitial space with the airways. It's comprised of 2 different types of epithelials, basement membrane, and smooth muscle. So you don't really need to worry about collagen issues with a pneumonia. Also the damage to the airways will be a result of swelling and minor "trauma" and the vitamin C won't help that at all. But it is good to take in general just to aid your immunity during and post-infection.
