my guess would be that Filppula takes his spot, Johnson moves up to the second line and Namestnikov gets called up to play on the third line.

Jesus that was brutal.

However, for those hoping for a quick recovery, a member of my family had the same thing happen (though he hit his leg on a pole flying off a motorcycle) and was fully recovered in just over 3 months. He too is an athlete, and hasn't found any lingering effects performance wise (it does not apparently "feel" quite the same, but nothing ability hindering).

So, hopefully things go well and he's back this season. One of the best in the game.

I'm sorry for screwing up everyone's hockey pools...Never mind my year, I'll find a way to make it up to you somehow

Terrible news and anyone mentioning their pools deserves a karate kick in the throat.

The dude is hurt. I get it. I don't need to see the moment the bone breaks, or the moment Stamkos realizes his year is shot, or the anguish in Joni Pitkanen's eyes as his career dissolves with the rest of his heel.
Yes, lets hide, censor and ban all footage of this injury and any other injury that has or has yet to happen during a live and broadcasted hockey game.

I couldn't believe this happened when the score mobile alert came in! I was shocked. Then I was thinking I hope Iggy didn't injure him. Strange thought.

Hope he recovers quickly and can contribute to the Olympics. Seems like the timeframe may be possible.

No way he's out for the season, that's silly. We'll see him back for the Olympics.

Sucks to see him go though, definitely one of my favourite players.

I wish I hadn't seen that video. But I'm pretty squeamish about watching bones break. I've only seen the Joe Theismann leg snap once, which was more than enough. Apparently Lawrence Taylor has never seen the video and never intends to.

Wonder if Tampa might have interest in Cammalleri. Obviously not a center to replace Stamkos but he does help replace the big shot on the PP and might be a good match with St Louis's playmaking.

Due to the injury to Steven Stamkos, Patrick Kaleta has been suspended 10 games.

St. Louis and cammalleri both play the same side in the powerplay so I'm not sure if it's much of a fit.

Maybe Stamkos is a life guard in his spare time and people were speaking about another type of pool?

I was looking so forward to Stamkos finally playing for the Canadian Olympic team. I cringed when I saw that collision last night. It is possible he could still play In Feb but I think that is just wishful thinking. TB could slide down the standings it is going to be difficult to replace his production and how much he means to TBay.

I wonder if Iggy sent Dougie Hamilton out to take Stamkos out for the Olympics

I had a dream that Stamkos was in my hockey pool, but it turns out that he wasn't.

McKenzie says the unofficial prognosis for Stamkos is out for 3 months

edit: Also says that 3 months lines up pretty well with Canada's first game at the Olympics.
