LOL. Time to watch the bridges for jumpers.

Ridiculous.
Anyone watching the game for any period of time would say that Berra, as ok (not great) as he played, kept the Flames in it from being 4-0 after 1.
Butler's been fine, not nearly worth of the group-think criticism he gets here, but if you're going to pick one Flame that was head and shoulders above others in this game, its Berra and not even close.
Someone at Fan 960 wanting to stay on Hartley's good side, clearly.

It is no coincidence Monahan has been no where to be found as soon as Baertschi sat out.
He had some good chemistry going with Hudler and Baertschi but I guess genius Bob knows better.
Why the eff is Mcgrattan suiting up every game? He is useless if not fighting and taking up a roster spot for no good reason. Rebuilding teams don't take away two roster spots for Jackman and Mcgrattan. Call up a couple AHL guys and let them fill in their roles.
I sometimes question the actual direction this team is going. Are they rebuilding or still holding on to hope we might sneak into 8th and make a run? Because some of the decisions are baffling.

Could have been so much worse. That 3rd period was pretty solid.
And Steen with 14 goals so far, I can't believe that.

How does playing Jackman on the second line while scratching Baertschi make it seem like they're trying to make it into 8th? If anything that looks like they're trying to tank.

Berra was the best flame tonight. Easily could've been a blowout after 1.

Ill see you after game 82, like him or not Tanguay is a dynamic player. His flaw is self chosen (won't shoot) but on a good team, if he gets a chance, he will produce.
Neither Jones nor Galliardi impress me much.

I think Hartley's going to do what he wants, and Feaster is going to do nothing of substance (if he can even pull the trigger on anything semi-major), and hope that is good enough to keep on Burke's good side.
I expect Burke would want to evaluate the lineup and coaches and hockey ops and the dynamic around everything, probably up until Christmas or the Olympic break to get a big enough sampling of what's going on, and them make changes accordingly.
Until then, Hartley especially, will do what he thinks is the way to handle things and stay true to his feelings on the team concept and as how it relates to individual players, and Feaster's role will be limited to signing the call up requests from Abbotsford.

0-6 on the PP in a one goal game. Can't get much simpler than that.
It's just clueless out there. If we can't get it back to the point and rip something from there, we have no idea.
If only we had a skilled playmaker to makes some plays. Oh wait.

Tanguay's bad attitude and tendency to pout is definitely NOT what I want on a rebuilding Flames team.
I'll take Jones over Tanguay despite the difference in skill.

That infectious hard work that Tanguay and Glencross would have brought together this year is exactly what this team needs.
We don't have skill, so let try the hard working route

I wonder how everybody would react if Sven sat again tomorrow. I honestly wouldn't be shocked.

I'd like to echo the sentiment about D Jones, too. He was great until he got injured and since then he's been 100% invisible.

Jones apparently was very effective and sort of a fan favorite until his injuries. The last stretch he was in Colorado for, I believe most fans wanted him gone as he was very ineffective.
Upon arriving in Calgary, he played that hard-nosed style and was looking productive. Injury hit again, and he hasn't been the same player since.
Reminds me of Bourque. Both of them need to play a certain way to be successful - hardnosed players driving the net. Both these players get injured. Both these players try to change their game and stay healthy. Both these players become labeled as inconsistent.
Hopefully Jones can start playing hard and staying healthy. He is an effective player that way as we have seen. Just seems very hesitant to do so now with any consistency.

I actually like Jones' game in the last two. Good to see a big guy skate with the puck and ot dump it in at the first opportunity

Good game by Reto Berra stopping 24 of 27 shots. He made some key saves when it looked like the Blues were going to blow it open. Kept the Flames in the game and even made a comeback.
The defense was good as well with Butler, Billins and O'Brien with assists. They've really pulled together with Giordano out.
The problem has been and still is up front. Tonight, Galiardi, Hudler, and Cammalarri with good games. Backlund was okay as well. I though he should have got some of Colborne's minutes tonight. Joe needs to play with a bit more intensity.
Jay Feaster needs to manage this team better and make some moves. He's called up Reto Berra which is fine and Max Reinhart who had a good game tonight. But those are easy safe moves.
I guess Glencross will be going on IR so that means he can recall another forward. If they're not confident in playing Backlund and scratching Baertschi then they should trade them. You need a guy up front right now that can score. That would have been the difference tonight and the Flames could have got 2 points or 1 at least.
So this loss is on Feaster tonight.

I think the good start this season makes them think they will definitely make the playoff so insted of letting the young guys play and learn from mistakes, they are trying to have as many veterans they can play. To tell you the truth, I am starting to wonder who really is calling the shot here. Does Baertschi or Backlund's benching really his calling or he is just following someone's advice to save his butt. Either way the benching doesn't seem to work so far.

I agree- since good old #47 has been MIA, so has Monahan.
HOWEVER- tonight the Flames were outplayed by a bigger, better team. Sven Beartschi would not have helped that and you guys can bitch about it until he gets back into the lineup all you want- he's a small soft player who would have done us NO good tonight.
This team is really missing 3 of their top 6 players, and it's no coincidence that the Flames have blown chunks since Giordano has been out.

@RogMillions Bob Hartley singled out TJ Galiardi, Reto Berra, Tim Jackman and max Reinhart for their effort in tonight's loss to Blues. #Flames
I guess Sven better set up camp in the press box. He's there for the long haul.
